I fell in love with you because I finally found peace
Sylvia Plath, from a letter to Gordon Lameyer written c. 1953, featured in The Collected Letters
What July taught us:
You must come home to yourself. Everything else begins there.
Grief is a wild ride. Sometimes you never really get over it… you just get used to the fact that it happened. I find solace in knowing that healing doesn’t always mean missing it less. Sometimes it just means carrying it differently.
What July taught us:
Joy and grief can exist in the same moment. And that type of tension is okay.
“You’re so strong!”
Well, actually… I’m just exhausted, running on trauma responses, not used to asking for help, and deeply in need of support. But thank you!
I know you’re tired, but be gentle with yourself. You’re doing a good job.
