Recipe for circle images:

Set simple gallery widget to square size. Ex. 100x100

Set roundness to 100.

Mental note: Accidentally dropping in a .bmp image freezes Showit.

A quick and easy way to delete multiple images on the stage is to hold down the delete button, while clicking the objects to be deleted.

The images in the media library, despite being ordered sequentially, never land in the galleries that way. To combat this, select images in reverse order, the drag and drop into the advanced panel of your gallery widget. This will set the viewing order to normal.

Oddly enough, the +Sites media library operate normally, and do not suffer from this sequential ordering bug.

You can copy and paste layers across +Sites.

Do not increase the font size of a block of text just to fill space. If your paragraph text is at Verdana 14pt, make sure the ENTIRE site is the same way. Keep it consistent.

Is your Showit style group export stuck at 42% ? Click the main style group, then click into the advanced panel view (right side tabs), and on the bottom choose "Export Style."

Use Audacity to shrink your sites .mp3 track from 3-4Mb to 500Kb. Export using a bit-rate of 96kbps. This will speed up the loading time of your site while maintaining the tracks quality.

Display your latest Facebook wall post(s) using the RSS widget. First, get your Facebook Fan Page RSS feed by visiting your page, and looking on the bottom left-hand corner for "Subscribe via RSS."

Then, burn your Facebook feed with Feedburner, as Showit doesn't like the PHP string with the default FB RSS URL.

Paste your Feedburner URL in the Feed URL space provided in the Showit RSS reader, and publish.

If you can access your site via WWW, and no WWW, that's bad. Google sees that as two sites, and thus penalizes you for having "duplicate content." Find out which version has more sites linking to it, and implement a 301 redirect (forwarding one version to the other).

Re-size images to 1600 pixels (72 dpi) on the long edge of the image. This saves space in Showit while striking a balance between size and quality.

If you want something to meet the edge of the browser on all screen sizes, lock it. Page content is typically not locked.

To resize the overlay window in Showit, add this code to the end of your URL:

?height=500&width=500

The 500 is represented in pixels. So, the above code would resize the overlay window to 500px by 500px.

Hold down the Shift key to replace a layer while keeping most of it's advanced panel properties.
