i’d like to assume that because you’re black (hopefully not in a white system??) that you’d understand, but unfortunately, i learned that not everyone is as understanding as a heavy majority of people.
if you’re okay with people appropriating your culture, whatever. that’s not my business and it never will be. but you need to understand that not everyone feels that same way, and a vast majority of people are against this.
i am not going to go out and name my child a stereotypical black name when i myself am not black. THAT is culture appropriation, THAT is racism.

Let’s talk about source attachment, and why it can be incredibly toxic towards any possible individual.
This post is multiple opinions coming from multiple introjects within the same system, specifically our system. We do not speak for everyone, we do not speak for introjects with the same source. We are talking about our experiences as introjects, and why our attachments (if any) may be toxic.
This will be a long post, as this is something that we have been typing for well over a week by now. This will only be a few of us, as a lot of the others did not want to comment on the topic.
I will also only tag this with syscourse, and not our general tags, as this was something we typed up on Discord within our personal server.
Without giving too much information about my source, as it is an incredibly triggering one, I want to preface that it is something that I am completely detached to aside from my name and appearance, this does not mean that I want to talk about it all that much.
My source is terrifying. It was used to help Killian cope with unnecessary trauma, and ended up creating me. Again, without giving too much information, my source was also used more as harm instead of being used to cope, despite it being labeled as a game.
Why would it be bad, and toxic, if I still had source attachments? Well, for one... If anyone knows of said game, that would be why. If no one does, leave it that way, do not go digging. Two, having any type of attachment towards a source like mine can leave to several unhealthy relationships and habits, and can (or will) lead to destructive behaviors. Do I even need to express why that would be a bad idea?
To end my talk, I want to say this. If you know of my source, do not comment on this post talking about it. We will block and report you for promoting it, none of us, and especially I, take this lightly.

Hey, I’m Alex. I’m one of our Stardew Valley fictives. I still identify with my source quite some bit, but I’m working on stepping away from that as time goes.
Being one of four Stardew Valley fictives is incredibly annoying sometimes, especially considering I’m the complete opposite of the other three, and I would rather not work with them. Another thing that is annoying, at least for me, is that none of my source friends or family are with me. That can be discouraging and really hard to deal with sometimes, and it really is.
Why can my source attachments be toxic? Well.. We all know I’m considered a “health nut” in source, the only reason why I can see this would be toxic is because the body isn’t at what I believe are my personal standards. We’re disabled, so I can’t really do anything to fix us, and I feel like I can’t fix us. Idk if this makes me fatphobic or if its just an internalized thing that the brain makes me feel, but yep. Its why I almost never front anymore. I really only did to talk about this because a lot of us collectively agreed to do this.
I don’t really know what else to say here, so I’m going to just leave it as is. -🏈/Alex

Syscourse hot take: Questioning systems shouldn't use the term system for themselves. I have had so many bad run ins with questioning "systems" they all ended up not having OSDD/DID.

minors can be influenced pretty easily, right? look at what tiktok has done with this disorder. minors are influenced into thinking that this absolutely awful and terrifying disorder is fun and dandy.
now think; minors running these big blogs, specifically syscourse related blogs, might feed into that “influencing minors” by mistake.
am i saying all of them do this? no, but ive already noticed a small pattern with this type of stuff. hence the post.
blogs regarding syscourse and why endos/etc are bad are wonderful! yes, i love those, but i do not think that a minor, or anyone with a still developing brain, should be handling these heavy topics.
this reaches towards literally everything. between talking of trauma, of C/SA, of S/RA, racism, antisemitism, literally anything and everything that can (and more than likely will) be a heavy topic.
am i saying that no one should be talking about these things? fuck no, if you think thats where im coming from, your back must be aching from reaching that hard.
im simply saying that i think only (at least 25y+) adults should be handling these types of situations, and these blogs, to ensure that no one is being influenced to believe either blatant misinformation, blatant lies, or attempts to fear monger.

this is something i have noticed 100% within the system community on tumblr. i am seeing people under the age of 18 running these syscourse blogs with heavy topics, consistently engaging in syscourse to the point that it doesnt even seem healthy for neither party, and outright spilling their own stories to the public.
this is not safe. none of the above is safe. none of the above should ever be happening, and yet, its happening on a daily, because it has been something that i have been witnessing for the past few months.

running them? actively engaging in this 24/7? spreading their opinions as if theyre pure facts and truth? hell no.

Dealing with your source/creator dying as an introject.
Hi, my name is Technoblade. I am a fictive/faitive. The person I am an introject of died very recently of cancer.
The guilt I feel about being a introject is immense for me right now. I am still in denial for the most part, I feel like this isn’t real.
Here are a few things I find have helped me
Don’t be ashamed for being an introject. Still being yourself is not disrespectful or rude as long as you don’t talk over grieving people/fans/friends/family.
You are allowed to grieve in your own ways. Scream, cry, listen to music, go offline, anything. As long as you aren’t hurting yourself or others you should be free to grieve.
Interacting with your source. I find re-watching streams or videos has helped me remember the good.
If you are like me and there is a place to donate or help the families of the grieving then please do. Whether it be spreading the link or donating.
Talk to people you trust. Be free to vent your emotions in a safe environment.
Self care and love. It’ll be hard to get up, shower, eat, etc. Try to do at least one though. Take your time getting re-adjusted.
See a therapist if you can. Grief is difficult to manage alone, talk to a therapist if you have one.
hmm. My hottest take might be most fictives treat their fictive-hood in a really unhealthy way. No, that is not you in that show/movie/videogame/podcast/ect, that is a thing you are based off of, and you need to understand that you are not that person in order to heal. You need to understand why you are based off that thing, but know that you are now living a completely different life, and that's something you need to get used to. If I see another person be like "I was watching x and I-" no u did not, that is what your source did. Not angry at anyone of course, just makes me get an ick knowing this happens so often. Or, maybe I'm completely wrong and I'M the one who needs educating. That's why i don't say it out loud lol

introjects in general - not just fictives - need to understand that, yes, while that is your source, that is still not you! YOU are you! yes, source memories, i get that- ive got so many introjects that identify with their sources to a degree but they KNOW theyre their own person, and theyre not so-and-so.
they dont think like their source, because theyre their own person, and a lot of introjects just refuse to understand this sometimes.
ive been outright called ableist for stating these things - hell, i wouldnt be shocked if i got called ableist right now for saying this - and while im not the most educated person in the world on OSDDID, i do heavily agree with you anon.
