Zelia Avezou wins the first boulder gold of the year! Yipppeeee
Every time speed climbing goes viral, I should get $100 for every person who thinks the auto-belay pulls them up the wall
Guys I'm so excited for @partybarty Olympics posting
Norway not having outrageous pants for curling is a recession indicator
okay but who was the player that originally got you into following tennis more closely?
Not to age myself here, but Lleyton Hewitt winning Wimbledon.
Sweeny's hitting them splits more often than I did my entire 18+ years of dance training
as a dancer, sometimes i get jealous of the attention and support that sports get
especially as a woman, because i see all the incredible work these athletic and intelligent women put into their art form, and get paid maybe $200 for months of work if you're lucky. and then men run around and get millions of dollars in match payments and sponsorships. even the highest paid dancers are paid a small percentage of what the highest paid athletes are paid
the general public does not support dance as an art form. and it is not lost on me that it is because it is a largely female populated industry....
SPEAK ON IT! I love watching sport, it's entertaining, but live theatre is also entertaining PLUS thought provoking and helps support an overlooked, underpaid industry. So much money is poured into sports annually (especially in Australia), so why is virtually none of that money or support ever seen for the arts. It's not hard to get out there and see a show. Give it a go. Make it a new years resolution. Support Local Artists in Your Area!
Carlos looked so switched on tonight. Watch him drop a set for no reason to Adam Walton in R1
From a choreographic standpoint, Popyrin has one of my favourite service motions
Shoutout the eccentric, loud Belgian man who was calling out support between virtually every point at UC. You're a legend and I liked your energy My favourite exclamation was "un bisou for Zizou!"
Things the lady sitting behind me at the tennis said:
1. When Zizou was announced "oh so he has no money and no sponsors?" 2. Kept referring to Zizou as a rookie, despite him having turned pro in 2018 and being 26 years old
3. "Good one rookie! That's twice now you've done that" (derogatory) when he let a shot go past him at the net because he thought it was going long, but it dropped in
4. The women shouldn't be paid as much as the men for grand slams because the men play 5 sets
5. That mixed doubles is inherently unfair because the women have to return men's serves and that's hard?? She said a bunch more shit honestly, but I had to stop listening so I didn't cause an altercation.
