I just rewatched It Chapter Two
and i couldn’t stop thinking about how different it would be if Stan did show up
• he obviously wouldn’t show up right away; the jade of the orient scene would still happen
• they show bev calling patty, and patty says that stan isn’t home, and she didn’t know where he went, but bev tells everyone she thinks stan’s dead because of a dream she had
• everything happens, they find their artifacts, blah blah blah
• but then, richie and eddie come home, and richie says he wants to leave, and ben goes up to talk to him, and ACTUALLY convinces him to stay.
• so bowers stabs eddie and richie is the first one to get to him, tries to calm him down. they all realize that bowers will probably get to the library next, so they all hop in richie’s car and drive there once Ben has patched up eddie
• at the library, mike is wandering around and looks at the history of old derry, and he gets attacked
• suddenly, there’s an axe in bowers’ head, and stan is standing there, hands shaking, breathing heavily. mike says hi to him, and stan smiles, says, “Didn’t think you guys would have to fight pennywise without me, right?” then promptly throws up.
• everyone else runs in and ben asks if Mike is okay, but richie doesn’t even pay attention and just hugs stan, because he KNEW HE WASNT DEAD, BEVERLY.
• they call bill and stan is the one who talks to him, so bill goes back to the library, and mike fully explains everything to them
• they go to the house, and they get separated (richie, eddie, bill, and stan, aka the original losers; beverly, mike, and ben), but it’s just a giant spider instead of stan’s head in the fridge.
• they go down to the basement, and the ritual doesn’t work, and everything happens like normal except this time, eddie doesn’t die.
• stan, who was always the cautious one, sees pennywise start moving again after eddie “kills” him.
• he screams at them to move, and richie and eddie roll to the side, then run back into the tunnel. the rest of them follow.
• stan is the one who figures out EXACTLY what to do, to yell at pennywise that he’s just a clown, that he’s nothing
• they all kill pennywise together, get out of neibolt house before it collapses
• they go to the quarry and eddie IS complaining, and it’s loud and annoying and they all can’t stop laughing because they made it, holy SHIT THEY MADE IT.
• eddie and richie go to the kissing bridge and eddie finds out, and they leave together
• beverly and ben leave together and they’re happy and in love
• bill finishes his book, stan goes back and goes on vacation with his wife, and mike finally goes to florida
• once a year, they go back to derry and the jade of the orient, keeping up with each other’s lives
• everyone lives, because stan is the one who always knew what to do. stan was the most cautious because stan was the most scared, and he saved their lives every day, not just with pennywise.
