bisexual: sexual attraction to two or more genders; sexual attraction to same and different genders
happy 20biteen! 💖💜💙
Hi! I don't know who to ask, I had BEEN IDing as bi because I thought I was(which still is valid as being bi) and I've recently been noticing that I don't really find boys as physically appealing as girls (or want to date them). So I've started IDing as lesbian and I've kinda become comfortable with that ID but I for some reason find myself wanting the attention of this male coworker that's nice and cute(still can't really decide if that's sexual attraction or not!) please help, thank you!
There are bi people who have preferences towards different genders and that’s fine. It is also possible to really want someone’s attention because they seem cool and you want to be friends. Or sometimes it can also be the remains of compulsory heterosexuality. There are a lot of possibilities and I cannot tell you how you feel. I would, however, focus less on labels and more on what you’re actually feeling. The most important thing is to do what makes you happy. Labels should be useful descriptors for you that make you feel good, not things that prescribe the things you’re allowed to do or feel. If you feel comfortable with ‘lesbian’ right now, that’s fine, if ‘bi’ starts feeling good again at some point, that’s fine too. Just make sure you’re listening to yourself first, instead of getting too caught up in fitting into specific boxes.
trans positivity cat!
It is valid to be bisexual. It is valid to be pansexual. If you are attracted to multiple genders you are valid regardless. You can call yourself both, or neither, or only one of them. The most important thing is that you do what works best for you and let others do what works best for them.
This post is for people who love Pride Month and puppers ❤️❤️❤️
HAPPY PRIDE, EVERYBODY!!!
it’s almost pride month and I don’t want to see a single post saying that bisexual people are privileged. not a single one. want me to explain? fine.
having extremely poor mental health rates, very high rates of suicide and very high rates of ED is not a privilege.
having very high rates of substance abuse is not a privilege.
being the most closeted group in the entire LGBT community is not a privilege
having extremely high rates for sexual abuse and intimate partner violence is not a privilege
receiving the least amount of LGBT specific funding (despite being the largest group) is not a privilege
having extremely high rates of economic insecurity and homelessness (often involving an unsafe home situation) is not a privilege
having very high rates of experiencing exclusion and harassment and not daring to go to LGBT pride events or support groups because of this is not a privilege
bisexual people aren’t fucking privileged. get over yourself and actually start supporting bisexuals for a change, you could actually start to make a difference.
lots of love to everyone who is unable to celebrate pride openly this month ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
He said it folks
Honestly being disabled affects so many LGBT+ people.
In my town there is only 1 bar that has wheelchair access and guess what?! It’s not the gay bar!
Gay bars are also not accessible (the vast majority of the time) to those who are sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds. Example; some people with epilepsy, autism, PTSD, Tourettes, social anxiety, ect.
The pride march I went to last year would not be accessible (reasonably) for someone in a wheelchair or let’s be real, anyone who can’t walk for an hour +.
The local LGBT+ group I meet up at tries to be accessible but often forgets that if a location has to be changed then the same level of access will almost certainly not apply to the new location.
The LGBT+ friendly bookshop I visited while overseas had a tiny door which barely fit my small wheelchair. There was also a step halfway through the store which meant I only got to view half of the books that were aimed at me.
A lot of LGBT+ resources online are not set out in a way that people with visual or learning disabilities can easily read, or read at all.
The LGBT+ community as a whole (not just the disabled members) need to make a conscious effort to include disabled people where-ever and whenever possible.
We are just as much a part of the community as abled body/minded people.
This is 100% okay for able body/minded people to reblog too.
It is not easier for bi people to come out, than it is for anyone else. Kill that myth right now.
