One of my favorite “kids and religion” stories is still about my cousin and his mom. He was like seven or eight at the time, and had given up McDonald’s for Lent. He had a really bad day at school, and was crying, and my aunt was trying to cheer him up; she said God wouldn’t mind if he broke the Lenten vow once, and come on, they could do it together, just the two of them. And he stops crying, looks at her, and goes “Oh my God, you’re the devil”
y’all ever think about planets?? stars?? they’re out there being big RIGHT NOW
“Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.” - Psalms 27:10
Reminder to my fellow lgbt+ Christians, even if your relationship with your parents is complicated, God loves you and you have a home with him 🌈
Just a reminder to all of my queer friends this holiday season:
You are loved
You are worth it
You are not alone
You are not bad or broken
You deserve to be treated with kindness and respect
Even if your family is not supportive, know that I love you, God loves you, and I am always here if you need me.
Stay safe, beloved, and have a happy holidays <3
Drink something warm, put on your most comfortable pajamas, and let yourself melt into bed tonight. It doesn't matter if it is still early, or if this wasn't your most productive day. What matters is that you tired. Rest, take that weight off your shoulders when you relax your muscles, let the sleepy fog that is covering your eyes fade away into a pleasant dream. Don't feel guilty for sleeping, it is a basic human need, and you should be able to enjoy feeling rested.
What is this? a crossover episode?
My advice to you, run
there's something so special and intimate about fleeting encounters with a stranger. like a brief smile at another person in a new city or a note slipped in a book. a shopping list trodden into the ground of a supermarket or an old postcard between lovers that made its way to an antique shop. even a kind anonymous message on a website or a pointed direction if you look lost,, those small moments with strangers where you know nothing of them or they of you but your lives intertwine, for just a second for, the first time and the last.
i dont believe in differences of opinion i believe anyone who disagrees with me is going to hell
i’m bad at interacting with people regularly but i hope my mutuals know that i consider them to be my friends and i genuinely care about their well-being and lives and stuff
Somebody paid a lot of money to have these morbid, impractical cabinets made.
via facebook
You say morbid and impractical, I say “where’s the number for that cabinet maker?”
And it’s things like this that make me dislike being a renter. I can’t just get cabinets like these installed.
I haven’t seen god
at least not directly—god lives constantly in the peripherals of my eyes. as soon as a catch a glimpse in the corner—god moves and i lose them.
I’ve never seen god directly, but i see them in things. there’s god in the flowers, there’s god in the evening sun. there’s god in your laughter—there’s god in destruction too.
there’s a little god in everything. even if they don’t exist, god’s there. a forest will grow back after it’s burned, a flower lives on through the seeds that it spreads. how is there no god in that?
i have not seen god directly, but i’ve seen the rising colors of dawn, heard the calls of the mourning dove. so, in a way, i have.
