the year is 2032. you’re at the hospital, waiting to be treated. you hold your arm, knowing you broke it. you hold back the tears, trying not to focus on the pain. a nurse walks up to you. ‘the doctor will see you now’ she says calmly and leads you down a hallway. she gestures for you to enter into a room and says ‘he will be with you in a moment’. you wait, trying to hold back the tears in your eyes.

finally, he walks in the room. ‘and what can i do for you?’ he asks, a big smile on his face. you say nothing and just gesture to your arm. he takes hold of it lightly and looks at it. your eyes burn. the pain is intense. after a moment, he gets up and retrieves something from his freezer.

he hands you a snowball.

‘use it wisely’ he says as he walks out of the room.
