My name is Tina Smith, the cousin of Justine Cunningham. On behalf of her mom and her immediate family, I decided to open this account. Justine is a beautiful and smart young lady who recently enrolled as a freshman at Bethune Cookman University (BCU) in Daytona, Fl. She was so excited to become a college student and even more excited to actually leave New York and experience college life. Two months into her freshman year she lost her dad unexpectedly and had to mourn that loss away from those near and dear to her. Now into her second semester she is faced with the hardest fight ever….. FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE.
While attending a frat party on Friday night, a fight erupted and shots rang out. People started running for cover, but unfortunately, Justine and two other students were struck. One young man was killed instantly, another young man was shot in the back and Justine was struck in the back of the head, the bullet lodging in her jaw. She now lays comatose in the hospital awaiting surgery.
Justine’s mom has two younger children up here in New York and the travel expenses along with the upcoming surgeries and subsequent medical care is far and away anything she can handle on her own. The family is in dire need of assistance and any donation would be sincerely appreciated. God bless you.
