So my old Betta, Sendack, just passed away last month. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get another one yet, but then I saw this guy at the pet store where I work. His fins looked pretty bad but he was ridiculously spunky. So, here he is tearing around his new home like a nutcase.

Last assignment for Steve Ahn’s drawing workshop. The focus was on style, so I decided to push myself in a more anime direction, since anime is a new visual influence for me. I ended up shooting for more of a Marvel/DC animated tv show mixed with Legend of Korra, so some of the American style crept back in.

Clothing practice from Steve Ahn's drawing workshop. Years ago I used to do clothing studies regularly, but that's been a long-forgotten habit as of late. This was definitely a reminder of where I need to focus on improving. Used characters from my webcomic, since I needed to develop some upcoming costume changes.

Acrylic painting for a project for my town's library. It's a cool project where artists and writers start with a prompt, then have to do a work off of it. What they made is then passed on to the next writer/artist, who uses it as inspiration for a piece. At the end, all the pieces are lined up and everyone gets to see how the original prompt was changed from person to person. My piece was based off a short story about hunting in Autumn.
