"Alright, Ayris, great job!"
Mei grinned as her Misdreavus finished up with a very showy display of her Confuse Ray attack. Her grin faltered as the Pokemon took on a better-than-you demeanor. Such were her Prima Donna ways. Mei dug a Poffin from her bag (Ayris had watched the entire time that they were being made to make sure that they were of the highest quality) and laughed to herself as the Pokemon eagerly devoured it.
"You did some great work," Mei complimented, making motions like she was petting the ethereal Pokemon. Ayris mumbled as if to say of course I did and perched between her trainer’s buns. Though she had sensed the approaching man, she made no noise to alert Mei. However, her eyes remained trained in that direction.
Stretching, Mei figured it was about time to continue moving on. She needed to be in Mistralton City in two days time, and Chargestone Cave was the still an obstacle in her way. Procrastinating time long overdue to be over, she sighed and continued through the Deerling and Foongus-populated route, oblivious to what encounter waited for her.
He remembered this place. It had been a very long time since his last visit here, but it brought back a lot of memories. It had always fascinated him. The electric charge was so strong here, it caused the rocks to literally levitate from the ground. It was quite an amazing sight, really. The fact that the magnetic field was so strong there, it could lift entire boulders almost effortlessly was amazing on it's own. But simply everything about the cave was exquisite and amazing. It was something that kept N guessing. How exactly the magnetic field there got so strong and how exactly it all worked. He had always been fascinated by things like this. Though, this was the first time he had been to the cave in over a year.
This place reminded him of her. That trainer he had met three years ago. What had ever happened to her? He couldn't tell you. For the last year, he spent his time searching for her. He felt a need to apologize for his wrong doings and to thank her for saving his life. Perhaps Ghetsis wouldn't have simply done away with him once he was finished with his puppet. Perhaps he would have, though. Perhaps he would be dead if it weren't for the young brunette trainer who had risked everything to save the Pokemon and, subconsciously his own life. He owed her a debt. A debt he had planned to repay to her once he found her.
That was a year ago....He had never found the trainer again. He had spent the last year searching only to come up empty handed. It was a painful fact. But, what more could he do other than hope that he would find her again? What could he had done differently? Nothing, he supposed. But what now? What was he supposed to do? What would become of him?
His thoughts died down as he noticed a person walking up ahead. Every part of him told him to turn tail and head in he other direction. But, the hearts of the Pokemon ahead told him otherwise. Why did the Pokemon seem familiar? It seemed as if he had met them before. He couldn't understand how that was possible....that is until...
"Mei?"
