Hearing his words melted her heart. Thinya knew that it would be very bad luck if she ever lost him again. A small smile came across her face as she felt his face close to hers. "Of course I am willing to be by your side, Thorin. You know that." She chuckled as her eyes sparkled with love for him. Thinya wanted to be his Queen, his one and only. There was no other man she wanted to be with. "We will just need to take time to build this. And to convince the council." A light laughter escaped her lips as she shook her head. "We have time. I want to cherish those few moments alone with you."
The rebuilt of her father's shop kept her quite busy. It was moments like this one that she cherished and always waited for patiently. "My heart is yours until Mahal decides to recall me. Even there, it will always belong to you."
Everything she said had been logical. They would have to build their relationship from the ground up, make that bond grow stronger - something he'd planned on doing. This was a dam that knew what she wanted, who she wanted and would defend what was hers. Thinya had always been someone that supported him from the beginning, even if he'd made a stupid mistake in going on that blasted quest. The light laughter that left the other when she spoke of the council had the dwarf king chuckling softly. Though, it wasn't a wrong statement to make; they would have to convince the council of their union.
She wanted to be his Queen - to stand beside him and rule Erebor. To build the kingdom up once again. That had made the dwarf's heart flutter, the love in her eyes had brought a smile to his features.
"As will mine." He answered softly, thumb continuing to gently stroke her cheek, his gaze looking into her own. "You're everything to me, always have been." Those were words he'd been needing to say from the very first day, and now he was able to. Yes, they had time to work things out as they wished, for that was something Thorin was already looking forward to.
Ohh, it's going to be a risk. It's very definitely going to be a risk, and need more than a little planning to assure the safety of those involved. Thera's brow creases a little, blue-grey gaze absently the thatch of houses across the way. She's listening to Bard's suggestions - boating drop, library - but she's turning other less pleasant prospects in mind at the same time. Which lead to a few moments of silence before a slow, thoughtful reply.
"What's the chances they'd send someone to shut it down?" She's gotten the impression that some of the town guard go along with the Master, while others sometimes have no choice. "Won't help anyone if they do and take all my supplies."
Her fingers tap on the flagon's sides, jaw shifting in thought - and perhaps her next question won't seem to connect to the last one right away. "Can you take me to look at this library, please?" Honestly she's quite surprised that Laketown has any such thing, and wonders how big it is and what sort of books line the shelves.
Well, she supposes she'll find out.
Downing the last of her ale she turns to meet Bard's eye, and if he had any suspicion that she might be changing her mind, the glint in hers will dismiss it right away, "I am going to help people." That was her calling, and why she was there, "And I'll use 'preventative medicine' on Alfrid if I must. But let's take a look and see what's safest."
The chances of the Master and Alfrid coming in to shut down her clinic were quite high. The bargeman was certain that if word got out about this happening, the scrawny little hand help would swoop right on in to try and make this woman's life a living hell - push her to leave Lake Town. As far as Bard was concerned; they needed more people like Thera in this town, to help liven up the place and offer help when it's needed.
These people didn't have that because it was taken away from them in a way. And it frustrated the man to high heavens, but not much could have been done. Master didn't like Bard or his family, wishing to end his line but failing to do so. A bargeman was needed to help bring in food and other items that were given to them by their allies.
Her question brought Bard's attention towards the a woman, brows furrowing slightly before a nod was given. "I can show you the library. From there," he starts, tilting his head "you can decipher what you wish to do from that point forward. If the location doesn't meet your expectations, there are other areas to take a look at as well." The brunette answered, gaze lingering a moment or two before he closed them and took a breath.
Lowering his hands, the man motioned for her to follow him. He was going to show her the library as she asked, hearing how she spoke of using 'preventative medicines' - which had only made him raise a brow. Completely lost on medical jargon and such, Bard began to lead his companion away from the inn and in the direction of the library.
@rowan-revelry asked: [ SHIELD ] for Thorin from Lyrian
THE SHOULDER TOUCH. ( A PROMPT LIST! )
The hand upon his shoulder had the dwarf glancing at the other in silence. Temper rising slightly at the idea of being pulled back from what they were facing, but Thorin had decided it was just best to hold off in saying anything until this entire situation had been dealt with. Brows furrowing, he gave a silent nod as he stood back where he'd been pulled. A few choice words would be had later, but for now he would sit back and allow the other handle things from this point.

Green hues watched the King of Erebor with tenderness, appreciating his presence and this walk together. She walked slowly, adjusting to his own pace while her heart raced at the confession. She had kept it dear to her heart for too long, she almost lost him once. It was time to be brave. As she paused and turned to face him, feeling his large hand cupping her cheek. Her smile grew fonder as he admitted that the feelings were mutual. Taking a deep breath, Thinya whispered: "I do not wish to live a life without you in it. I almost lost you once, I do not wish for this to happen again."
His expression turned serious the moment those words left her. His thumb caressed her cheek gently as bright blues took in her expression, "You will not lose me, amralime." Thorin affirmed his stance on the matter, expression softening once more. "I plan on staying for as long as possible, having you there are my side." He whispered in turn, leaning in slowly. "If...you're willing, that is." Uncertainty crept within him at this, his thumb pausing momentarily. There was nothing more that he wanted than to have Thinya at his side, for her to be there during the rulings - to be his queen at some point in time.
But they would have to build on that, wouldn't they?
She was asleep before the blanket settled upon her form, the fey breathing deeply as her head pulled to the side. It would be several hours before sheโd show signs of waking, her eyes slowly blinking open, and a grimace crossing her face as she felt the heaviness in her limbs. She clearly hadnโt slept enough to replenish herself entirely.
Clearly, Sasha had not slept enough to replenish herself entirely. A deep sigh had been given as the blanket had laid upon her form, bright blues took a moment to look the fey over carefully to ensure no injuries had been given to her. Once it was affirmed that she had none, Thorin slowly stood up leaving the bedside to retrieve Oin, "Oin." The brunette called for his healer, hearing the shuffle of feet and soft muttering a soft chuckle left the king as the elder dwarf had soon made his appearance, "Ye needed somethin' lad?" The healer questioned, holding his trumpet to his ear so that he could hear the other better.
The royal had given a nod in response, "I need you to keep an eye on a patient. Sasha - the fey that helped us in the battle. She's...used most of her energy in healing me, nearly passing out on the field after doing so." He'd given a short briefing of what had transpired and why Thorin had personally asked his long-time friend to watch the Fey himself. "I'll come by and check on her so you can do other things that are needing to be done, but while I'm not here? I'm asking you take care of her for me."
The elder healer had listened mulling over the other's words, a nod given as he confirmed he'd do the job, "She'll be in fine hands, my king. You handle affairs with the elf king and Bard."
"i doubt that she is arranging a marriage, John." she replies quietly, twisting her hands in front of her frame. "my mother does believe in marrying for love. she would not change her mind to marry me off." eloise had found love eventually and she'd been years older than hyacinth currently was. she knew she wasn't going to be forced into marriage.
but it didn't mean that her mother wasn't going to help the process along. she saw how Hyacinth looked towards john occasionally. Hyacinth enjoyed her walks with him, perhaps so much more than she should.
"I am not....betrothed. Just stating what my mother intends to happen eventually."
The Mill owner had remained silent as he took in everything that was said, his expression remaining the same until realization had hit him. Every mother only wanted what was best for their child, his own was included in that and she'd made sure that he and his sister had everything they needed. John was not rich by any means but he was well off just as so, his mother had wanted him and Fanny to marry into wealthy families. He'd gone against it, opting to keep his attention to the mill until the elder Thornton had urged him to travel and relax.
"That makes sense." Thornton replied, bright blues looking to the young woman beside him, "My apologies, for mixing it up."

Fรญli chuckles at her expression, shaking his head. His hand rubs his nose at the very thought running through his mind. "No, no one would kill you for this or many other things. We are not the violent brutes many believe us to be. " he levels a clear gaze upon her with weighted words. "You know this yet you still speak in fear of our anger, it is not a problem but be aware of it."
Forbidden knowledge sure. But death for it? No. Never. They were not heartless. If anything their secrecy showed how much they cared for their kin and respected the boundaries of the outside world.
If the 'tall folk' didn't want them around then why should they engage or share their ways? It all spiraled from there with protectiveness rivaling every other species on Arda.
"You may understand it. I would recommend not speaking it only because you do not understand the cultural framework for the words you use." Fรญli explains tone softening again. " Language is the poetry of a culture. Within it are many hidden meanings and things that you are not yet aware of. Mistakes won't be met with violence but it could be awkward for you should you speak something incorrectly."
Elyssa had always been a curious sort of girl growing up. Her knowledge had grown over the years and her mother had encouraged the young half-elf to seek out said knowledge. She'd done just that by sitting in the library one day, coming across a book written in an entirely different language from those that had already been known. That was a day she remembered clearly, as she learned it was written in the dwarfish language.
Her gaze had locked on to Fili, his point having been made. They weren't quite angry with her just cautious of who spoke their language. Which had been understandable in many ways, as dwarrow were a private people unlike those of Men and elves.
Culture had a big part in their world. And the crowned prince had made an excellent point in that Elyssa had not understood the cultural framework for the words used. That was something the brunette had intended to rectify at some point to better help understand the way they did things. Her features shifted from uncertainty to understanding as she gave a nod.
"I understand. It will not happen again." Elyssa responded as she gave a bow to the royal. an expression of genuine apology given as she truly had not realized the situation and how upsetting it could be for those that had not really known of her or who she was. A promise made that she was intending to keep unless given permission to speak in said language.
"Aye." The dwarf had answered, twirling his sword in hand and prepared his stance as they wait. Waited for what seemed like an eternity to know of what their enemy was. All of a sudden any and all movement stopped, his gaze shifting to the left. That was when orcs had jumped out from behind the bushes, coming towards Sasha and Thorin both only the dwarf was prepared and made a counter attack.
She nodded, preparing her stance behind him as they waited for their enemy to attack, willing a small thicket of thorny plants to form a perimeter around them. Blue eyes glowed as the orcs charged towards them, the fey immediately entangling a few in vines as Thorin made his counter attack.
Orcrist had began to glow a bright blue - a sign that orcs had been near by and were getting closer, each one taken down by the swipe of his blade. The dwarf had began to move farther from the fey, ensuring that those that were headed towards him would not attack her from behind. One swipe, two - three swipes given in a row and each orc had fallen to the ground in their blood. "There's more coming!" He called out to her, looking behind her before shifting focus to an opening and suddenly; a group of orcs came charging at them.
There was only so much that could be done with just the two of them and at this rate, they would be killed if they didn't get out of here.

The corners of his lips curled slightly, bright blues taking in the dam's features as he allowed silence to linger between them. Erebor had just been reclaimed a mere few months prior, his healing progress had been continuing smoothly, a bump or two in the road - but that was his fault. He was able to walk about with the aid of a cane made by his cousin; Gloin. His features softened a bit as he slowly raised a large hand, cupping Thinya's cheek while using his thumb to stroke gently. "The feelings are....mutual."

In the pouch on Thera's belt, beside her coin purse and other small possessions, nestled a round jade stone inscribed with the seal of Lord Elrond - given as a necessity long ago, and never, perhaps by oversight, reclaimed. It did not make her in any way a friend to the Mirkwood King, but a well-known visitor when the need arose.
That didn't mean he wasn't impossible at times, but she could tolerate Thranduil far more easily than someone like the Master. A sigh became a wry, resigned chuckle, one that accompanied a sidelong look toward Bard. "From what I hear, they're not very enthused about you, either." Neither man had thought to watch his tongue while she treated the Master's gout, and Bard's name had popped up in bitter, grumbling tones, "Although whatever you've done to earn that, I think you should keep doing!"
Once more she used her flagon to half-mask her words; one never knew who might be listening, after all. "I was more or less offered the post of personal physician," Anything that looked good or vaguely prestigious, the Master wanted to keep for himself, "When I refused ... well, they paid me in gold, but Alfrid stopped me at the door and took most of it back in taxes for 'bringing in foreign herbs'."
She snorted again, shook her head. "Speaking of which, I want to offer my services to the people here - with or without gold. Where's a good place to set up shop for a week or so?"
He'd known of the Master's thoughts on himself and his family - Alfrid's as well. It was safe to say that all parties involved had a mutual feeling towards one another, thank whatever God above. If he had to put on a front every single time he was around either one, that would have been entirely tiresome.
Hearing her speak on the reactions of the duo had brought a soft snort from the man. That sounded exactly like something that Alfrid would do.
