Chronotopia February Update: Shadow Play

Let’s talk progress, shall we~ The good news is that I have actually finished scripting the transition I had mentioned in the last update. Now I can finally move on to editing the translation for Chronotopia’s D route. Hopefully it won’t take as long!

Said transition is mostly useful to properly lead to the different romantic interests but also a short bad ending. I actually wrote that one a few months ago after watching a stream of the demo. The people who commented there seemed awfully worried that Kionna’s father might turn out to be the game’s otome romance. A reaction I had not seen coming considering my familiarity with the original fairytale. I know I am known to play with readers’ emotions but I’m not that heartless of a writer! So I thought turning that idea into a bad ending might get the point across a little better: no, it’s not a viable romance option. And now you can see for yourself why marrying the king is such a terrible idea!

On another note, I tried to make the composition a little more atmospheric during the transition’s important scenes as it’s a crucial turning point in Chronotopia’s story. Words are not always enough to convey a particular feeling so I wanted to make sure the images would emphasize Kionna’s inner turmoil. What do you think?
