So, as a Black professional, I start this coming week cautious as hell.
I got a promotion, but the official announcement wasn't quite worded that way to sooth white fragility. I already got a target on my back because I don't stroke the white ego, I don't endorse white mediocrity, I mind my business, I do my job and go home.
I worry the target is going to get bigger now that I'll have more visibility.
I'm bout to level up and it only gets lonelier and whiter at the top for us Black folk.

I had a healing discussion today with a talented, intelligent, intuitive Black king and community leader that made me think:
❓ Do I have the needed supports around me?
❓ Am I tapping into the wisdom of my elders?
❓ Am I tapping into the history/legacy of my ancestors?
Which led me to post this to you, dear reader:
1️⃣ Do you have the guidance of elders?
2️⃣ Do you have the support you need to heal?
3️⃣ Do you tap into the history/legacy of ancestors?
I discovered I have some wonderful pieces in place, yet there is room for more.

Sometimes the best way to take care of yourself is free: nap, turn off the phone, cry, laugh, call a friend, drink water, take your meds, wear loose clothing, sit outside, read a book, open the curtains...you get the idea.
Do something simple to take care of you that doesn't feed capitalism. Disrupt the system. ✊🏾

I've been taking a social media break to keep balanced during an intense time of transition. I hope you've been taking care of you kings and queens.
Drink water, take a nap, sit in your robe & bonnet, take your meds, turn off the phone, take a walk, say no, say yes, go to therapy, do what you need to do to take care of you.
