well the adeptus mechanicus are a faction from a series called warhammer 40k which are basically a bunch of humans who make all the machines for the humans in the setting, they also handle fixing machines by praying to the spirit they believe resides inside the machines and also worship an entity known as the omnimessiah which is basically this machine spirit god. They also believe that the flesh is weakness and regularly replace parts of their body with machine parts

so theres apparently this thing called the ant mill that happens with army ants which are basically blind where if a group of them are out foraging and they loose the pheromone trail and will begin following eachother in a circle until they all die of exhaustion
