I’m not defending him but there are some facts that lead him into Madness.

• Lilith (aka False Edward’s ghost, Tarot reader...) convinced Sabrina that Faustus killed her parents when it isn’t true: Re-watch “The Feast of Feasts” episode so you can remind yourselves that he actually ate the Truth Cake and he would have confessed that he killed them but he didn’t because he has nothing to do with their death. Think about that.

• Then, Nabrina ruined his wedding with Zelda. Also, may I remind you that Edward rebuked Faustus when he confessed that he wanted to marry Zelda. So after centuries, they have the opportunity to do whatever the HELL they want with ther lives and then because of Lilith’s Scheming, they could not enjoy that day. He wanted to marry her since their Academy days, so he wouldn’t stop their wedding because of the Antipope’s death. [Yes he killed him, yes he wanted to murder Ambrose] He’s not innocent at all but neither are the others: Lilith, Lucifer, Edward & pretty much every member of the Church of Night. My point is NO ONE IS INNOCENT. As Zelda said “Is anyone TRULY INNOCENT?!”. Everyone’s talking about all the shitty stuff Faustus did but no one is throwing shit at Edward: HE decided that Zelda could not marry Faustus, he didn’t let her made her choice, he didn’t respect her at all, he made that choice for her without HER CONSENT. His family didn’t stop him from marrying a mortal, even if Zelda didn’t agree with that choice she let him do whatever the hell he wanted to do with his life and at his risk and so is Edward better than anyone? No. Than Faustus? No. Lilith? Lucifer? NO. Everybody has dirty hands. Also, think about what Faustus said: “ I confess I have felt his specter (Edward) hovering over us, EVEN in the woods last night”: SO, clearly it is not the first time he felt that way when he was with Zelda. What makes you think that Edward didn’t curse Faustus? My theory is that indeed he cursed him, that’s why whenever he would get close to her, he felt Edward’s EYES on them. (re-watch Lupercalia: you’ll see that Faustus looked SOMETHING in the woods just before kissing Zelda). That being said, I think Roberto has some explaining to do in part 3!

I’m trying to reblog this post and add my two cents but I can’t, so I’m just going to write this instead and if anyone reads it, so be it. It makes sense that there’s more Spellwood fanfic right now for several reasons, because the show ruined the ship and both characters were hurt and we’re trying to undo it because we’re trying to find a way to make part two make sense (seriously, much as you wanted to hate Blackwood in part one, he *wasn’t* like this), because when a ship sinks the shippers always want to read fluff about it, etc. But the fic that aknowledges canon is fine, too. If people were romanticizing what happened, if they were trying to find a way to make the Caligary spell not be a problem, if they acted like a Spellwood relationship is fine because witches just be rapey or whatever, that would be one thing. But all I see is people saying “I’m horrible for liking this but I find it hot”. They know exactly what they’re reading/writing and enjoying. I think that this is completely fine and it’s unfair to judge anyone for liking kinky fic. I understand why it might be triggering to some but in that case, don’t read it. You’re clearly not the target audience. I’m sure that any writer feels bad for having made you uncomfortable but, yeah, read something else.

Also, I think that it’s kind of hypocritical to judge Spellwood when your ship essentially involves necrophilia and a goddess or a saint or whatever Lilith is supposed to be in the Satanic faith dating an extremely religious woman like Zelda, when Lilith is clearly in a position of power. Especially when you won’t even acknowledge that that’s what you ship, tbh.
