„In Dreams“ by Will Grayson
„Fear Of What Can’t Be Seen“ by Will Grayson
Just a pencil portrait from tonight.
Been a while, painted a lot but wasn’t really into posting for a while, so I guess I post a work in progress.
Painting of Ellen and Count Orlok in „Nosferatu“ by Will Grayson(well me)/BlackSailsArt in violet colors.
Inspired by a scene of Robert Eggers „Nosferatu“. Hutter looking into the winter landscape, painted in blue and violet tones. This was the last painting I did within the last hour of 2024. I didn’t place him in the center, as a symbol that man is not the centre of nature, but just merely a part of it, because no matter how strong, advanced or powerful he may thinks he is, he‘s still just a peasant living under natures rule and it’s ever changing moods of weather, seasons and never ending changes.
After days without much eating, cursing and frustration - it’s finally ready and I‘m okay with it!
In time for the new coming #Nosferatu movie.
Could‘ve made some parts of the face more smooth, but I kinda like that „imperfect and dirty“ look of it and leave it as is now.
Hätt paar Sachen am Gesicht noch verfeinern können aber irgendwie gefällt es mir wie es jetzt ist. Hatte aber noch mal den Teil mit der Kleidung übermalt, da das vorige etwas zu knallig war.
„Distant dreams so close, so far away.“
Not everything is what it seems to be or what you think it is.
I did that one many weeks ago. And I thought a lot about that one, and there are things hidden within which aren’t easy to find, especially not at social media quality size. But if you think that’s her shadow behind her, think again.
If we just look at a drawing or a painting, we miss the depth of soul that lies within. To really feel a drawing or a picture let’s us really see what eyes can’t catch.
I just could not leave it be, and reworked the hair and background. Now I‘m more satisfied with it. So here it is - my painting of Juliet.
„Juliet“
Painting deep into the night …
What a smile 😊
Enjoyed drawing it, and she loved it.
„And then I see a darkness..“
The artists spirit both a gift and curse when it is given, when creativity through loneliness and sorrows is driven. Not a decision, nothing you can choose to be or try to become. It’s given by birth and by death it is gone.
„It’s all written in the darkness.“
Eyes are open, yet they don’t see. People hear, yet they don’t listen. All around, but turned away. No voice, no hand - when life says there’s no reason left to stay.
This painting is not really finished but yet I can’t go further so I leave it as it is, so it may stay open and alive cause finished means end, and end means death. So it may stay open and live on its own.
