Hey guys! Sorry I've been quiet for awhile.
First and foremost, I wanna start off by wishing everyone Happy Pride Month! Everyone deserves love and happiness, and I'm glad that gets to be celebrated this entire month.
I have some news that I think is important to share, especially if it involves my comic series, Adult Cartoons. Its something I wanted to share since it was first discovered, but I also needed some time to kind of sit and process the news.
Recently, I discovered that I have something called Lattice Retinal Degeneration. From my understanding (and how it was explained), it's an eye condition where I develop holes in my retina, which controls the quality of my vision. Its a genetic thing. It's not quite sure what could be the cause of its development...but...nevertheless, I have it.
I have it in both eyes, with the left being my worse one.
The only concern would be the ability of fluid within my eye seeping into the holes, which could further push the detachment of my eye which puts my eye sight at risk. Considering I'm young and the lack of symptoms that usually come with it (splotches in vision, flashing lights, a curtain in peripheral view), I was given the choice the hold off to have what's called Retinopexy, or, laser surgery.
However, the Retinal specialist did recommend that it would be wise to be proactive and handle this now.
So...I've decided to go through with the surgery. I'll be having it this Friday. Its a real simple procedure. 20-30 minutes, minimal recovery time, real simple procedure that's good for up to 10 years with regular follow ups with an eye doctor depending on my healing process.
What does that mean for Adult Cartoons?
As of right now, I'm already 9-12 pages ahead.
Considering the recovery time is pretty decent, the surgery won't interfere too much with the scheduling nor the development of what's to come.
Usually, I try and do 1-3 panels throughout the week and finish what's left (if any) on Saturdays. Will it affect my Friday scheduling of working on panels? Sure.
Hell, it might even slow me down just a tad bit with working on the panels on the weekend in general. But, like stated before, I'm 9-12 pages ahead, so I'll be fine.
Anyways, that is all. I just wanted to share this because this is really important. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, carry on!
