Republicans: Trump’s a racist, but I’m still voting for him
A parade of Republicans are lambasting Donald Trump for his “racist” judge comments and yet almost none have rescinded their endorsements. (Only Sen. Lindsey Graham actually rescinded.) Meanwhile, the response from Sen. Jeff Sessions, one of Trump’s earliest supporters, speaks volumes.
Update: Trump has doubled down on his comments about the judge. In a statement, he said, “I feel justified in questioning whether I am receiving a fair trial.“
He also claimed he’s not a racist — and used the most tired, stereotypical excuse imaginable.
