you can kill me but i only grow back stronger
So don’t start shit
They say no one is living here–but the lights come on, once every year.
Michael breaks his 15 year long silence to call someone a ‘special snowflake’ and then complain about taxes

Halloween Bloopers (2007)
Nude and half sprawled against the other, Chad absentmindedly traces shapes on Michael's chest. It'll be dark soon, the dying afternoon light bathing his room in shades of orange, but for once that doesn't matter. An "out of town" business meeting means that Michael could stay the night. Could stay here, in bed, with him. "You hungry?" is murmured. Chad feels content.
“I am.” Michael quickly followed the statement by pointedly wrapping his arm around Chad, trapping him there. He wasn’t that hungry. There was something completely new and remarkable in the quiet after their times together... everything in his brain went silent, and he was left with just the now.
It was rare.
“... Are you hungry?”

“A surprise?” Michael was still standing around awkwardly, the bag hardly even glanced at. He knew they weren’t going to open it. At least not until after… things. Maybe then? He didn’t know how much energy that sort of thing took.
He decided that standing around the kitchen wasn’t the best idea, and moved up the stairs, motioning for Chad to follow along. The house was messy, but not unbearable- the rooms they passed were cluttered and well lived in by children, Michael’s room was not.
If anything, it was weirdly sparse. A few posters on the walls, a computer, but otherwise tidy.
“Do I get a hint?”
chad’s smirk continues unabated, a ‘ mhm ! ’ hummed as he follows micheal through his house. it certainly looked lived in, evident by the rooms that they passed, but the clutter seemed a bit much. maybe chad was too used to his own home, always tidy thanks to his mother.
micheal’s was different, however, and chad took the time to look around when entering. there wasn’t a lot going on. aside from the posters his room felt almost impersonal. like it wasn’t so much a place he lived as it was a place he merely slept in. or something. chad doesn’t bother mentioning it to micheal.
‘ lets see. it’s something that i’m wearing. ’
“Something you’re....” Michael trailed off, looking over Chad’s outfit once, before realizing there was nothing amiss, so--
“Underwear?” Had to be. Outer layer was normal enough, and it had to do with... that. So- underwear. Fancy underwear? Michael went through whatever underwear he saw on men before. Nothing overly fancy. Wouldn’t be a banana hammock.
... He sat on the bed and pushed Chad’s shirt up just slightly to be sure.
“You aim to please, so I doubt it’s just... regular underwear. So... something fancier?”

It only took Michael a few seconds to answer, which meant he had been sitting near the door for some time waiting for him to show up. No time was wasted on hellos, Chad hurried on inside almost immediately.
“Sorry. Some of my neighbors are kids from school, and… yeah.” No need to get into specifics about that old worry. Probably being overly paranoid at this point.
Michael… never had anyone over besides Nea, so he wasn’t sure what to do. Especially with the whole… implication of what they were going to do that night.
“I. Uh. I got Popeyes, if you’d like some. Or pop. In the fridge.”
micheal answered quickly, chad’s obligatory hello going unsaid as he’s rushed in. normally he was all for secrecy when it came to them but ‘ i mean, we’re working on a project together. it’d be weird if i came over but not out of the question… ’ micheal thankfully saves them both from an awkward silence.
‘ like, the fast food place ? that’s fine. ’ chad hasn’t eaten there before but he’ll be fine. he pulls of his bag, showing micheal. ‘ i brought what’s left. figured we could get some work done if we’re not, uh, busy. ’ the smirk he gives says it all and then some… a lot more !
‘ speaking of THAT, i have a surprise for you. ’
of the lace-y variety

micheal’s home is… less than impressive. at least when compared with his own. not that many in their sleepy town could honestly compare with the kensingtons. still, he’d agreed he would come over when micheal’s family weren’t going to be around and today was was one of those days. and though the invitation carried a certain meaning, chad had still bothered to bring what was left of their project with him. given what he was wearing underneath his clothes, though, they probably weren’t going to get much more done. hopefully.
he knocks twice and waits for micheal to answer.

“I’m sure he would if he didn’t run the risk of his dad sending him to boot camp. Or outright disowning him.” Michael countered. He loved Nea, but she was pessimistic to the point of not seeing the bigger picture (sometimes, all the time, he loved her all the same).
“And you’re still pretty.” He gives her a little squeeze before pulling away.
“Chad was more upset about how the hookup affected Tiffany. She matters just as much to him as you do to me. At least, that’s how it seems; I can’t speak for him.”
sometimes nea forgets that the people here aren’t the same as they are back home. not so open-minded. never had to worry about what people thought. she has her own problems with her parents, but her sexuality has never been one of them. she was fortunate in that respect. the fact that chad wasn’t maybe made her feel a little sympathetic. maybe.
“ i guess you’re right. “ she concedes, hostility ebbing away. michael would have only done the same thing for her.
“ i still don’t like him, or trust him, and i won’t be caught dead in the same room as him. let me make that clear. but … if he makes you happy, or whatever, then … i won’t fight you on it. “
“I really appreciate that Nea. He’s the first guy who’s been interested in me in... that way, so I really want to see if it works out. He’s really sweet when he’s alone too. In his own way.” Still slipped up and said mean things from time to time, sure, but nothing Michael wasn’t already use to.
“Are your parents going to be home soon? Was wondering if we could catch up on that whole week of no talking.” He missed her too.

The compliment… embarrassed him. In a good way? It was conflicting.
“No. I mean– you’re the first boyfriend I’ve had.” He didn’t know what Chad meant by it, but he could make an assumption.
“I haven’t done anything like this before.” Which was also embarrassing, but not in a good way.
“I think I got a good grasp on what we can do, though. Or… could do.”
‘ me either. with guys. ’ is admitted quietly. to him it was somewhat of a relief that micheal hadn’t either. ‘ i mean girls are easy. you get them going enough until they’re basically like splash mountain and then ’ he stops suddenly. ‘ uh, never mind… you don’t want to hear about that… ’
he laughs awkwardly, right hand running through his hair.
‘ soooooo… what can we do ? ’ it was easy to take the lead when it was tiffany. but chad doesn’t know what micheal is okay with. ‘ i’m cool with, like, whatever. ’ a shrug, as if to prove that he wasn’t nervous.
Michael heard of Slash Mountain, but it occurred to him in that moment that he didn’t actually know what it was. Some sort of amusement ride? So he was saying girls were fun? Or frightening?
Chad asking what they could do brought Michael out of it. They both had access to the internet, didn’t they? Although Michael wasn’t one to judge, with the whole Splash Mountain thing.
“Well. Maybe something you’d be more familiar with.” He settles on, picking up Chad so they can swap positions, and so he’d be on the edge of the bed. Michael knelt on his knees in front of him.
“Think you can keep quiet?”
panicsfirst:
blacksplinter:
Michael takes the opportunity to pull his own shirt off. Only fair.
“My full attention is on you. Kinda difficult to think of anything else, to be honest.”
Michael returned the smirk with a smile of his own, far more warm and affectionate as he pressed his forehead down against Chad’s. Arms wrapped loosely around the other’s hips, he resumed the kiss, content in letting Chad touch what he wanted.
teeth press against his bottom lip, chad sure to admire the view on display. ‘ god, you are built… ’ he murmurs. chad’s body wasn’t anything to scoff at, a nice, lean athletic physique, but he was no where near micheal’s level. he looked like he could rip a log in half.
‘ yeah, well, someone’s gotta keep you from worrying too much, big guy. ’
he smiles, though doesn’t push too far. light touches here, a kiss there. it’s all rather tame by his standards considering how quick he’d hit the sack with anyone else. then again, that was with girls… micheal was completely different story though. ‘ so, have you ever… ’ cue an awkward chuckle. ‘ you know… ’
The compliment... embarrassed him. In a good way? It was conflicting.

“Not really. If it was easy, you’d have just kept doing it.” Michael got up, then, and gave Nea a hug. Didn’t really matter to him if she returned it or not.
“No one could ever replace you, Nea. I really do think it’s a misunderstanding, with Chad and you. He doesn’t hate you. Dislike, maybe, because of the social impact on Tiffany after the whole… thing at the party. But he doesn’t hate you.
If he did, I sure as hell wouldn’t be with him. I wouldn’t.”
of course she returns it. nimble arms are wrapped around him, her forehead pressed into his chest. for the first time in a week, she’s able to ease up a little, knowing she hasn’t permanently fucked herself and their friendship over a stupid boy.
“ i trust you. “ she sighs, relenting. to think being blinded by her own insecurity is what almost broke the camel’s back.
“ just this … this whole concept of social image in a stupid teenage hierarchy pisses me off. maybe if i were still blonde and pretty, me and chad would get along, or that hookup mess wouldn’t matter so much. like, can you even hold his hand in public without him worrying about his dumb reputation? it frustrates me. he frustrates me. “
“I’m sure he would if he didn’t run the risk of his dad sending him to boot camp. Or outright disowning him.” Michael countered. He loved Nea, but she was pessimistic to the point of not seeing the bigger picture (sometimes, all the time, he loved her all the same).
