When she was still in school Blair became very fond of classical music. After she had a bad day she would lock herself in her room and listen to it until it she calmed down. To this day whenever she's in a bad mood she'll put her headphones in and drown out the world.

The streets of New York always managed to take Blair's breath away. Even on days like this where everyone was especially excited to get home after a long day. Blair usually kept her head down and tried to stay out of everyone's way, however today she felt a little ounce of unexpected confidence and took the time to look extra carefully at every building, smell every rose, and she even went as far as waving at a few people. Her brunette hair was still pulled up in a messy bun and she smelt of coffee and french vanilla from a hard days work. That was one of the things about her new job that she didn't mind. She knew that she shouldn't get too attached, she was here for one reason, to find a witch that could help her. But it was hard to look at the magnificence of the city and not grow fond. She approached the tall Victorian style brick building and dug her key card out of her purse and swiped it, causing the door to unlock and swing open. The hallway was dark except for a few florescent lights that shown down on the dusty floral carpet. She glanced around to make sure no one was around or following her, and turned her attention back to the lights. One by one they flickered for a moment and then went black, covering the corridor in a blanket of darkness. She focused once again and the lights came back on and she continued walking. Even after everything that happened, she knew she still had to practice sometimes. She had no idea why she was given this curse or if it could just fade away before she could understand why.

The apartment complex was glamorous on the outside but was seemingly modest on the inside. It was mostly vacant except for a few other tenants on the different floors. Most likely due to the fact that there was a bit of a rat problem and mold liked to grow around the window frames. It wasn't much but it was the closest thing to luxury that Blair could afford living as a barista. She found her apartment, number 24, and walked inside. As she closed the door behind her the whispers started, quiet at first but all too quickly they grew in intensity. She paused and looked over her shoulder. Freak. I always knew you were a freak. How could you do that, Blair? You're a murderer.  The whispers continued but she couldn't hear them anymore.  It wasn't possible. She was going crazy, that had to be the only explanation. She followed the unintelligible voices into her bedroom, but when she walked inside, there was no one in sight.  She hesitated, confused until her eyes wandered into her closet and onto the newspaper article lying on the floor.

She bent down and pulled it closer to her. Through the fading text she could still make out the headline. Tragic accident Sends Town Into Devastation.  Sitting neatly underneath it was a class picture in black and white. Look at who it is. The murderer herself. Freak St. James.  Blair dropped it suddenly and backed up against the wall. This couldn't be happening. It had to be the work of a witch. The thought gave her a pang of hope. What's wrong Blair?  She slid down to the ground and covered her ears. You did this to us. Blair let out a scream. The lights flickered violently and she heard a crash, but she kept her eyes shut tight. Bang, bang, bang. Her bed was shaking now. Murderer. A lamp flew across the room and smashed into the opposite wall. It's you- the whispers were cut off abruptly as Blair crawled across the floor, ducking to avoid a flying shoe, and tore the article up into tiny little pieces and slowly the furniture stopped moving. Blair took a deep breath to calm herself down. She had promised herself that she would control her ability. No one else was going to be hurt because of her. If only she could find someone who was able to help her, or at least explain why these things kept happening to her..
