Okay so guys. Wall-E takes place nearly 700 years into the future right? Okay well the first half hour of the film is just of Wall-E doing his job to clean up Earth and eventually he meets Eve. If the beginning of the movie is set hundreds of years into the future, why wouldn't all of the skyscrapers and other buildings be rotting away and buried completely in dust and earth? Wall-E can't clean DIRT so that wouldn't be plausible right? What is when Eve came to Earth, she was there for a while.. like a long while... searching for any sign of life. And Wall-E watched her look and then finally, after all these years he met her and showed her where he comes from. And then he shows her the plant and she shuts down, awaiting her ship to take her back to the Axiom. But that ship isn't going to just show back up at Earth after a week or so of putting her there. It would take several.. or many more years for it to return to the ship after dropping Eve off. Let alone her search and then coming back to get her. What is Eve is on Earth for oh, I don't know, a hundred+ years before returning to the Axiom, and then it takes another few years for the ship to return to Earth at the end. I mean in the pictures of all the captains there has ever been on the Axiom, there are only 7. And it was the 700th anniversary of their five year cruise on the Axiom. Maybe they'd tried sending the Eve robot to Earth before... after the five years were up and then just kept sending more, perfecting the technology until finally, she finds a plant and since she is able to carry it, her internal system has a way of keeping the plant at a constant growth and lifespan...
