River let out a small laugh at the other. “Yeah, okay,” he said. “Nice try, but that is not the answer. The answer is twenty four. You used the wrong equation.”

“Nice try for assuming I care what you think, why don’t you keep your nose in your own work and leave me be.” Blair bit back, glaring at the other and then back to her own work, trying to hide the fact she was indeed changing her answer.

Dante rolled his eyes lightly at her response, clearly enjoying the concept of her not being an approachable person. “Perhaps neither are a good option to you, but I much prefer that comparison to the prior,” he shrugged simply. Neither had the best relationship with their father, he’d made sure of that, but for some reason Dante still had a fascination with him. A need for validation from him. “Oh?” he rose a brow as Blair admitted what she was working on. “What’s the graphic novel about?”

“Oh so you’d rather be compared to a parent who just decided they wanted nothing to do with one of their kids and left? Because I’m not sure what that says about you as a person, Dante.” Blair commented with a shake of her head, she never understood the pedestal that her brother put their father on, making him out to be some amazing person even though that was far from the case. “A warrior princess, fighting for her realm despite her family insisting that it’s a job for a man.”

“What do you think I’m trying to do here, Blair? I’ve not just come to Alfea to piss other people off like it seems is your thing you’ve got going. No, I’m here to learn to control my powers,” Thea said, an angry tone to her voice. She hated when people commented about things like that, like she wasn’t trying her hardest to stop these intrusive thoughts from other people’s heads. “Why do you think? Everyone else in our dorm wouldn’t steal headphones and you clearly have it out for me, so I think it’s a good enough guess.”

“Just because you can read minds doesn’t mean you get to pass judgement on what you believe I’m here to do, you don’t know me.” She all but snapped, because she knew she could be a bit prickly with people, rub them up the wrong way. But it was a protection technique, that and given that her home life wasn’t exactly comforting meant she didn’t really know how to be anything but cold to people. The painted her as the bad guy, so it’s the role she would play. “Don’t think you’re special, Sweetheart. Also I’m not a thief, so feel free to search my room all you want, it’s not like you’d find anything.”

“That’s fair enough,” he rose up his hands briefly after her response. “Ouch– that sounds an awful lot like you’re just generalizing the princesses. They deserve a little better than that, don’t you think?” Harry remarked, most definitely taking the opportunity to tease her. “I’ll have to go have a look then. Who knows what sort of treasures could be hiding there? I’m sure people lose all kinds of things.”

“Good, because that’s exactly what I was doing.” She told the other, letting out a small scoff at his words, “Well the one’s I’ve met don’t exactly deserve better then that, they’re all the same. They think they’re better then us when in reality they’re only in a position of power because of who their family is, not because of their worth or what they bring to the table.” She told the other, feeling herself get a little heated as she spoke, also feeling like she was spouting the same words to the other as her mother spouted at her. “Oh yes, I’m sure you’ll luck out on a sweaty baseball cap or one singular earring. Looks like you’re about to hit the jackpot.”

“Name one thing,” Noah retorted. “Shame, I guess. I could’ve made the funniest pose for you.”

“I had a habit of waking up in your bed and you’d just be staring at me whilst I slept, that’s creepy.” She told the other, she hadn’t had the heart to tell them back when they were dating. But now, well she could speak her mind a little more. “Oh is that so, and what you consider to be ‘the funniest pose?”

A little snort escaped Lucas at that. “I’d do the same but honestly, while I seem to have control of my abilities now, it wouldn’t surprise me if it got a little wayward now and again. They almost seem to have a life of their own sometimes.” He wasn’t actually ashamed to admit that, perhaps because he had come so far from that boy who had set practically everything but what he wanted to alight when he was younger. “I can see why; no offence. Yours is pretty domineering and so it’d probably take similar people to handle it. Bet it causes a few fireworks sometimes.”

“Looks like you need to be here more than most then, being able to control your flame is baby steps. My mother was teaching me control as soon as my abilities started to show.” Though her mothers teaching was more like her forcing her to gain control of her abilities, to become powerful and to be able to wield them with strength, not wanting her daughter to show any weakness. “I wouldn’t know, I don’t exactly keep people around long enough to see if we clash, I prefer to be by myself.” That and she had a terrible time making friends and other than Dante who only seemed to tolerate her at the best of times, she spent most of her free time in her own company.

“I just said shiny, not sparkly,” he corrected her with a little smirk of satisfaction to be able to prove a tiny meaningless point. “Could’ve easily been a stud off of one of your leather jackets,” Harry added with a light shrug of his shoulders. “Sure, I could have pocketed it but that’s not really how I roll. I honestly should’ve grabbed it and taken it to the Headmaster’s office or something. Because– we don’t have a lost and found, right?”

“Potato, potato.” Blair commented with a wave of her hand, before looking over her jacket and noting that everything seemed to be in it’s place. “I don’t buy cheap knock offs that have pieces falling off wherever I go.” Blair pointed out to the other, “Maybe you’re better off asking a princess, I know they love all things sparkly and shiny, it makes up the majority of their personality.” She quipped, listening to the other, letting out a small snort before shrugging. “Not that I’m aware of, but there might be a box or something at the front office.”

“Me? A total creep?” Noah asked. “Come on Blair, you know I’m not a creep,” he replied to his ex with a raise of his eyebrows. “Unless you’re drawing me, then I could totally pose for you if you want.” That was a joke, somewhat teasing her. Since the end of their relationship, he tried to cover up any residual feelings or hurt with jokes. 

Blair raised an eyebrow at the other, a smirk forming on her features, “You so sure about that? I think I have a catalogue of things you’ve done that could be contributed to you being creepy.” She teased the other before letting out a snort, “Don’t flatter yourself too much, I’m not drawing you and I don’t need you to pose for me.”

“Oh uh– yeah it’s just a few doodles, no big deal,” Winnie shrugged lightly after being called out. She had several books open around her but the one she was supposed to be writing notes in was instead filled with various little sketches. “I’m still studying, I swear,” she added quickly as if the other would care, despite that statement being totally false.

“As someone who ‘doodles’ a lot of the same and tends to give the same spiel to people, it either is a big deal and you’re looking for validation. Or, you really don’t want anyone to see what you’re doing in fear of embarrassment.” She told the other leaning across in her seat to look at the others page, “Not saying it’s validation, but they’re good.” She shrugged, sitting back before snorting, “I couldn’t care less if you’re not studying though, I gave up twenty minutes ago.”

“And you’re pretty harsh. Are you always this abrasive with people?” Though Lucas felt like it matched her outward appearance actually. That statement look was something that suggested the confidence of someone who wasn’t afraid to speak their mind. She had balls and Lucas kind of liked that. “What personality came with such a daring appearance but no worries, I might have got it now.”

“Always. Why, can’t quite take my bark, hm? I can promise you my bite is far worse.” She teased the other, making a point with a small flick of her wrist to produce a small flame before letting it disappear. Blair couldn’t help but let out a huffed laugh at the others statement, “Yeah, it doesn’t take long for someone to get an idea of what kind of personality I have. Normally let’s them make their decision on whether they want to continue a conversation or try their look some place else.”

“You’re hardly the most approachable in the school, otherwise I’m sure somebody would’ve come to complain by now,” Dante mentioned. “Do I? Well that’s the first time someone’s compared me to their mother,” he chuckled, feeling a sense of satisfaction as her boots hit the floor. “What are you even working on?”

“Thank you.” Blair commented as though the other gave her a genuine compliment, holding her hand to her heart. “I do practice my scowl in the mirror so it’s good to know it’s actually working in warding people away.” Blair let out a small noise and looked to the other, “Would you rather I compare you to our Father, neither are a good option.” Blair hesitated for a moment before sliding the tablet over to he other, “Graphic novel. Something I’ve been working on for a while now, it’s no biggie though.”

the feeling of boredom was extremely dangerous for someone like lilith. along with boredom, usually came plans to cure it, but her plans were nothing of the innocent sort, unfortunately. she noticed someone sitting outside and approached them energetically. “hey, loner!” she greeted with a neutral smile. “i had a feeling you’d be here. i’ve come to bother you.”

“Oh joy, I was wondering what would come around and ruin this good day I was having. Looks like I have my answer.” Blair commented, not looking up from the sketchbook in her lap, pencil scribbling over the page as she sensed the other looming by her. “To what do I owe the displeasure of you bothering me? Just to get on my nerves, or is this going to turn into something more conniving?”

“Even if I look away, I can still read your thoughts. You should know that after living together for over a year,” Thea said, walking closer to her suite mate. “I came to ask where my headphones went. They were on my desk this morning before I went for a run and when I came back, they were gone, and it was definitely not Ophelia. She’s far too nice to do such a thing.”

“Well ever think you should maybe get a better hold on those abilities of yours? You don’t see me setting fire to everything in my path twenty four seven now, do you.” She told the other in reply, always feeling her skin prickle uncomfortably when the other was around due to none of her thoughts being private. “And you assume it was me who took them? Why’s that?” Blair asked, putting down her tablet to look at the other.

“I’m pretty sure I saw something back by the lake,” Harry admitted after being asked by the individual about a lost item. “Oddly enough, I hadn’t gone over to check it out but maybe it’s what you’re looking for? It seemed shiny enough.”

“And what about me screams I’m someone who owns shiny and sparkly things?” Blair asked the other with a raised eyebrow, “If I was you I would have just pocketed the thing and feigned innocence, especially if you thought it was something sort of valuable. Would make for a good piece of negotiation material for whoever lost it.”

Dante’s eyebrows went up as she explicitly called him trash, “Still going strong with the schoolyard insults I see. How mature of you, Blair.” He could only handle these exchanged with his half-sister for limited amounts of time, but today his tolerance was much lower due to how he’d found her. “There are more discrete ways of ‘sitting there and minding your own business’,” Dante replied before flicking one of the empty cups her way. “Cleaning up after yourself being a good start. How you are able to draw with this clutter all over the place is beyond me.”

“You know me, always here to try my best and to make your day.” She told the other, her voice remaining in monotone as she continued to focus on her work rather than the other. “I didn’t seem to be bothering anyone else, it was only you who came over here and decided to lecture me on my decorum.” She commented, swatting the cup out of the way when he flicked it in her direction. “Fucking hell, Dante- you sound like my mother.” She groaned, putting her feet back on the floor and glaring at the other.

Lunara didn’t eat in the dining hall often, she much rather preferred eating in her classroom or the teacher’s lounge with the other teachers, but with the surge of new students making their way to the university each day, she felt like it was best to get to know them all. She had been staring at all the students eating with their friends and making new ones before she then landed on the other. “Sorry, it’s just weird seeing someone eating alone.” She admitted, sitting with the other. “I mean, where are your roommates? Aren’t you lonely?”

“You find it weird?” She asked the other, knowing that she needed to cool her attitude a little knowing that she was speaking to a professor and not one of the idiotic students that tended to bother her. “Can’t say I care much about where my roommate or suite mates are.” She commented with a shrug, bringing her feet down from the table with a hefty clunk as she looked at the other. “As for being lonely, no- can’t say that I am. I like my own company, I’m actually being productive and I do have friends- or well, friend. I don’t play well with others.”

“Definitely not a creep last time I checked. Just curious I guess.” Lucas answered honestly, watching the girl. She was somewhat different from most of the students she’d experienced. She was definitely eye catching and Lucas had found himself trying to unravel the mystery. “Can’t imagine how long it took you to get your hair that color too. That’s an impressive visual statement.”

"Well despite what you believe yourself to be, you’re acting like a pretty big creep right now.” She commented, still paying attention to the tablet on her lap rather than the person who was addressing her. “Curious? About what?” She couldn’t help but question, wondering just what it was he was curious about. “Used to be blonde, so it didn’t take much effort and isn’t much upkeep.” She shrugged, knowing that it was a bit of a bold statement, but she felt more herself like this then she did when she was blonde. “I aim to make impressive visual statements, so glad to know I’m actually doing a good job.”
