“The general?...” Blanche felt a lump rise in his throat, a mixture of emotions washing over him. He reached out and wrapped his arms around Ivy, pulling her into his embrace.

“I’m so sorry, Ivy... There’s not much we can do right now.”

Smiling at the comment, she nuzzled in closer to him. “Well that is good to know. And I am always happy to see you too.”

Running one hand up and down his shoulder, Ivy let out a small laugh. “It has been a while since we have had alone time like this. Usually we are at the lab, or with friends, or my father is hosting something that I need to attend.”

A small laugh escaped him as well, slightly tightening his hold on her. “Now that I think about it, it has been a while... I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to properly relax. I’ve been enjoying the peace while it lasts.” He gently brushed his fingers through her hair. “How are you doing, Ivy?”

Blanche had been on the verge of falling asleep when he felt someone lay on top of him. He let out a small hum as he wrapped arms around Ivy, gently caressing her head.

“You could never disturb me,” he replied with a smile. “You know I’m always happy to see you.”

Blanche seemed composed as he made his way through the compound, checking security cams and the like. He still felt uneasy about the General’s actions, but for now, all he could do was obey orders.

“Brother!” Noir caught up to him as he approached the weapon’s testing facility. “You said you wanted to see me?”

Blanche briefly looked around before gesturing with his head to enter. “I made some modifications to your weapon,” he said, holding up Black Out for his brother to take. “I hope they’re to your liking.”

“Wow, thanks Blanche. You didn’t have to-”

“I needed to. We’re about to head into battle, Noir. We need to be ready.”

“Wait, what?”

“Noir, I need you to listen to me very carefully.” Blanche pulled up his scroll and tapped on the screen, glancing up at the cameras before turning his attention back to his brother. “We can’t trust Ironwood.”

“Brother, you’re scaring me-”

“He’s putting many lives at risk and that doesn’t scare you more?”

“But...” Noir sighed as he glanced down at his rapier. “Can we truly go against him?”

“Not at this current moment, but we need to be prepared for anything. Can you trust me, little brother?”

Noir glanced up and nodded his head, sensing Blanche’s resolve. “Always, Brother.”
