[Again I guess you guys noticed that I am kinda on hiatus. What a surprise. In the 9th month of my pregnancy and sitting in front of the laptop is basically impossible. My back hurts like crazy. And I don’t have much hope for whent he baby comes because well, then he will take up almost allmy time :S ]

“They seem nice.”

Pup poked his head out from the kitchen door again to look at the trio of clones enjoying their baked goods. He barely managed not to yelp when AirRaid grabbed his scruff and hauled him back into the kitchen.

“We don’t know where they’re from or if the Empire are tracking them. You know the rules Pup. We don’t get close unless we know its’ safe.”

Trauma looked over from where she and FireFlight were working on more baked goodies, a sad frown on her face.

“AirRaid you have to give them a chance. We’ll never branch out and meet others if you have your way all the time.”

They didn’t talk much. Mostly because they were enjoying the cakes and mostly because they knew Task didn’t like to talk much and they tried to strain him as little as possible. Once everything was gone from their plates, Durant smiled at his long haired brother.

“Do you want to stick around some more or want to return to the shop?” He asked, already knowing the answer.

“The shop.” Muttered Task.

“Alright. You and Falls go home. I’ll join you in a moment. Just want to thank the brothers for the nice cakes first.” He urged, watching the medic and Task stand.

New Start (Closed RP, Part 1)

Blushing shyly, Trauma laughed quietly. ‘Best talent’ indeed … she could bake yes; but it was experimental. FireFlight was the true genius in the kitchen not her.

“My brothers might argue with you there.”

She dipped her head politely as she excused herself so she could retreat back to the staff area behind the counter.

“Let Pup know if you need anything else okay?”

Durant smiled at their leaving sister. “Thank you. We’ll do.”

Once they were alone, they turned to eat their cookies - in Task’s case, his salties.

“Normally, fellow brothers are more eager to chat and be friends. But these guys don’t seem too eager to get to know other brothers.” Falls murmured, earning a shrug from Task, their forever antisocial.

“Well, they have each other. Maybe they just don’t need more brothers around.” Was Durant’s answer.

Pup smiled as he set up the plates and whatnot for their visitors orders. Trauma soon came out with two trays; one of her salted uj brownie experiment and one of regular uj’ulayli. She looked over at the clones sitting at the table closest to the window and smiled nervously.

“Hi.”

When the second ex-trooper turned up witht heir cakes, they all looked up at him. Or her as Pup suggested. 

“You must be Trauma.” Smiled Durant. Trauma didn’t look like a girl, but neither of the three brothers would ask. They just had to hope they would use the right pronouns without hurting anyone’s feelings.

“Yeah.”

Trauma smiled slightly as she set the plates loaded with sweet and salty treats down; doing her best not to bite on her bottom lip. She could feel all three brothers looking at her and it made her a little nervous. She brushed her hands against her apron before tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. 

“Enjoy guys.”

Durant pushed the salty treats towards Task, who was basically trying to become invisible against the wall. Durant supressed a sigh. He... No, they all hoped that Task would get better living separated from them, but it seemed he didn't improve much.

"It's nice to get to know you as well. Didn't think any of us could become a cook, but this smells delicious. Something tells me you have the best talent." Durant grinned up at Trauma, trying to ease her nerved.

“The past is gone, however much I wish it weren’t.” There was bitterness, regret and sorrow all wrapped up in her words. It had been over three millennia since Navree had died at the hands Emperor Vitate. And yet Revan would adamantly state that she preferred Vitate over Sidious.

Pushing away her negative thoughts, she gave and exaggerated huff, putting her utensils down and make a great show of pushing the plate over to Stripes. “Go ahead, take it! Korrie doesn’t seem to want it either.” At that, the Tuk’ata gave a huff of annoyance. Still, Revan knew that both she and her companion were instead looking forward to having fun with the members of the Empire later.

Stripes quickly set to destroy Revan’s food as well, keeping an eye on her, trying to read her mood. Which wasn’t the easiest task. He reached under the table and offered a quick rub behind the ear for Korrie.

Once finished, the waitress spotted them and showed up. Stripes paid and watched her leave, turning back to Revan. “So what now?”

“Um one moment; I’ll check.”

Pup darted into the kitchen; soon returning with an awkward grin on his face.

“Weeelllll … sorta? Our sister’s been experimenting lately with salt and sweet flavors and she’s made a salted uj brownie if you wanna try that?”

He usually was the one that had to try all of Trauma’s … experiments in the kitchen and not all of them went well. She was an excellent medic sure; but steady hands and an iron stomach does not a culinary scientist make.

Durant nodded.

“Thank you, that will do perfectly.” He didn’t ask Task if he would like to try it, knowing that his brother wouldn’t be able to decide on his own. Not even something simple like wanting to eat or not.

“I still don’t know your name though.” Durant gently reminded the kid. He looked so young and cute. Something they rarely got to see. Most clones turned bitter and had so many troubles after order 66, that this kid’s seemingly innocent cheerfulness was like a gift.

“Sister?” Asked Falls beside him, frowning. that wasn’t a word they usually heard. Brothers yes, since they were all clones. But sister? Did they adopt a girl into the family?

“Ack! Sorry.”

Pup rubbed the back of his neck as he grinned awkwardly at the older clone. Sometimes the delicacies of socialisation just … eluded him … even around other clones. Most didn’t mind; and he hoped these brothers were among that number … but not all were.

“M’Pup.”

He looked over to the frowning clone; a wary look marring his young features.

“Yeah. Trauma; she’s our sister.”

He wouldn’t out her; not to anyone.

Since he didn't get more of an explanation on the matter, Falls just shrugged. His curiosity was always getting the better of him, but he wouldn't pry.

"It's nice to meet you, Pup." Durant nodded with a friendly smile. "It's always good to see brothers doing well after... Well after the incident." He turned and gently guided Task and Falls to a nearby empty table, waiting for their cakes to arrive.

“Taste is a matter of preference, just as beauty is.” She replied, picking up her own utensils. The hand holding the knife was a little too fight, the knuckles showing white—-clearly she was itching for what would come after. “Besides, you can’t blame me for my instincts, especially considering the legends of origin they used to tell about how we became what we are.”

Revan remembered sitting on her mother’s lap and listening to the stories of her Sith ancestors as a young child. Her memory might have been shit, but somehow those precious memories of her mother and brother never seemed to fade. “Navree understood. But I suppose that makes sense given he was a togruta.”

Stripes shrugger. 

“I’m not Navree. It’s pointless to compare me to anyone from your past.” He honestly knew literally nothing about the sith as a species, their history or customs.

“And I never said I blamed you. We are all what we are.” His plate was emptied in record time, and when he noticed that she wasn’t eating much. “You don’t have to eat that if you don’t want to. Afterall you’ll ahve dessert anyway. I would gladly eat your food if you don’t want it.” He grinned.

The former Sith Lord heaved an exaggerated sigh and leaned back against the chair she sat it, Korrie settling in at her feet. She’d get her fill later, once Revan had had her fun. “Tis not as terrible as you make it out to be. Species matters and I’m only half human. The other half is known for their…shall we put it as ‘taste’? And even if that weren’t the case, there’s still the fact that the only way to properly sustain myself is to seek it out in others.”

Hand reaching down to absently scratch Korrie behind her ear, she turned her uncannily sharp gaze upon the waitress. “The roasted roba, perhaps, if thou wilt.” Her tone, in both cases had taken on a cold edge. Let them think her odd for her speech pattern—-she was old and did not particularly care to relearn how to properly speak Galactic Basic.

The waitress left them, only to return with their food, placing each plate in front of them. “Enjoy.” She chimed, before she left for other customers. 

Stripes picked up his knife and fork and set to destroy his food with the efficiency all clone had when they got food in front of them, “If I minded it that much, I wouldn’t be here with you, Revan. But I also won’t pretend to find it ‘tasteful’, if we are using big words like that.” He shrugged.

“My fault.” she muttered, more than willing to indulge her sweet tooth. If left to her own devices, Tari would likely end up eating more sugar than should be allowed. “All my fault. Said we shouldn’t go to see her. Said I was afraid. Convinced to go.” The image of the blue-skinned twi’lek who still haunted her was clear in the zabrak’s mind: Lyn Vrei.

“Will convince doctors. Maybe convince your brothers to come with me next visit.” Tari’s earnestness was clear in both voice and expression, her fingers reaching out to curl around his own. “Will bring Chaos Squad, at the very least. Strikeout will be able to help if you need anything.”

Move’s reaction to sitting up made her squeak softly, fear etching itself across her face. “Ori’vod? Jate? Get doctor?”

“No... no need. I just tried to sit up too fast. I was warned against that.” He admitted when his headache ached enough for him to be able to speak.

Tari didn’t seem to make complete sense all the time and Move suspected she was still half in her memories. He knew what it was like to have a confused mind. Afterall he had brain surgery for exactly that reason.

“I would like that. If you brought brother as well. I haven’t seen clones ever since I was brought to this hospital. Can’t wait to get back to duty and be with my brothers again.” He doubted Tari could convince the docs about the sweets though, but her enthusiasm was adorable.

“Will you help me get out of bed? The docs said I can take a small walk out to the balcony if I want. But I would need assistance with that.”

Eyes widening, Tari shook her head. “No! Not your fault! Mine. Remembered Nef.” The pain that shot through her heart at saying his name aloud almost made her grimace. Despite the several years distance between his death and the current moment, the wound left in her heart was still open and raw. Nef had raised her, after being adopted into Clan Novhret.

Taking a breath, she said, “Gavel says perhaps it’ll help to talk about it. But I—-I can’t.” Tari remembered the feeling of holding him while he died. His last words were forever etched into her memory: Do not be afraid, little one. We shall see each other again, when you walk the Path of Stars. That was how he’d described the route taken by souls to their afterlife, whatever it ended up being.

Instead of letting silence settle between them, the zabrak forced herself to reach for the candy bag again. “Would you like more next visit? Lots of different sweets at the shop. Any particular requests?”

Move smiled softly. Reaching out he gently brushed his knuckles against her knee. 

“It’s okay. I know what loss and bad memories do to people. We all need time to process such things.” He sighed, remembering his own share of nightmares. But at the offer of more candy, he actually grinned.

“I think my doctors would be pretty angry with me if I let you supply me with more sweets. Pretty sure this bag was against hospital regs as well. At least the grub here is far better than in the army.” Despite that, he missed the army. Missed his brothers. He was so out of his depth in a civilian hospital, amongst all the non-clones.

He shifted to sit up better, but as he flexed his muscles and brought himself upright, there was a sharp pain cutting through his skull, making him gasp and close his eyes tightly. “Kriff...”

Naya peered around the large crate they were hiding behind towards the ship in the distance. She scanned around to see if there was anyone nearby that could possibly be on the lookout for either of them. Her body slightly tensed up as she thought she heard the familiar sound of radio communications going out through a comm device.

Her head turned to him as she also listened to him grit his teeth. His face looked twisted in pain as he clutched his side.

“Will you be able to make it?”

She asked in a hush tone.

“We must hurry, I fear I hear something coming. I can try and help you run, but it will hurt.”

Move managed a faint smile.

“It’ alright. I make make these last few meters. I survived worse.” It was touching that after all that happend in the last few hours between the clones and Jedi, Naya still seemed to care about clones. It was admirable. Move wasn’t sure if their situation was reversed, he would be able to trust like that.

“Let’s make a run for it.” He grinned, showing more bravado than he felt. 

And they really needed to run, because it was a lanrge open area between them and the ship and someone indeed was coming. But they managed. It hurt like hell, but seemingly no one spotted them. 

Pressing his back against the hull of the ship, he banged on the ramp once to alert Durant if he was inside. He thanked the Force when the ramp actually lowered.

“Get inside, Sir... quickly, before they see you!” He could see a patrol turning in on the corner. Only minutes before they noticed them.

Almost preening under the lingering gazes of the imperial officers, she let Stripes guide her to a table. The mechanics were of no interest to her—-they were almost certainly uninvolved in the workings of the Empire. No, her attention was focused solely on the three imperial officers. A plan was beginning to form in her head about how to catch them. Their ladies were…unimportant in the presence of the officers.

She knew what she wanted. Over the many long millennia of her life, Revan had acquired a taste for her victims that extended beyond just their pain and suffering. The look that gleamed in her golden eyes beneath her hood and the sharp-toothed smirk on her face were evidence enough of the horror that would occur after they died. Still, it would look suspicious of she didn’t eat anything.

Revan’s hand reached to scratch at the place behind Korrie’s ear, receiving a rumble of pleasure in response. “What’s on the menu?”

Stripes felt a shiver run down his spine when he noticed the look in Revan’s eyes. for someone who phisically didn’t see to look like that... now that was something unique. 

“Just please let me eat my real dinner in peace before you move on to dessert.” He said, because he actually was hungry. Clones always were.

“We can have roasted robaside, nuuna stew or antarian peasoup. I think I’ll go with the roba. You?” By th time he asked that, the waitress showed up with a big smile, asking:

“What can I bring?”
