I see a lot of posts giving recognition to fanfiction writers, and I absolutely agree, that’s fantastic and writers deserve recognition. But I want to also make a post to say, as a writer and as a friend, heaven bless the fanfiction readers. The ones who bookmark stories, and save them in folders in their computers, and come back to them and get swept in to them. The ones who don’t discard fic because it’s not a “legitimate” genre. Heaven bless the fanfiction readers who leave kudos or views or, best of all, comments, the ones who read stories and remember that there are writers attached to them, and so they strike up conversations with the writers about their work. Heaven bless all the fanfiction readers, the ones who are constructive and helpful and kind. You are so important, and I write for you, because you love storytelling just as much as I do and writing feels like talking to my friends. You mean the world to me, never as a number on a story’s kudos but as a friend, so, very personally, thank you.
