When you’re friends with a black person, realize that this does not erase your privilege. Nor does it make you a “good person” because you have black “friends”. We are not a charity case nor do we need your friendship. You are not special.

Realize that jokes regarding the oppression of the black community are not funny. Realize that being friends or “cool” with black people and other people of color does not give you the right to be a jackass to them. Being friends with a person of color does not give you some special pass to make a mockery of their race.

You are not a friend. You’re a fake and an asshole. If you subscribe to this behavior, please unfollow me.

Happy Fathers Day

Thank you, sperm donors. Thank you, providers. Thank you, dead beats. Thank you, dad. You have gifted us with life. For those that stayed by our mothers sides, we praise you. We are grateful for the examples you set for young men and women everywhere. If we are lucky, we all have one solid male figure in our lives. If we are extra lucky, it's our own fathers that teach us and lead us. The not so lucky get knock offs. Imitation crab meat ass niggas who stillshape our ideas of what men and fathers should be. The ones that create the most common syndrome found in Black women, that makes us clap ass cheeks for likes, leads us into dark rooms with strange men, looking for love in "all the wrong places". I'm taking about Daddy Issues. Fathers Day has a whole different meaning from the eyes of the daughter of an emotionally unavailable or physically unattainable father. It reminds of the daddy/daughter dances we either missed or cried over. The lessons we had to learn the HARD way, not knowing our true worth. So many questions that we can only answer after sex or another relationship has failed to satisfy us yet again. "What is wrong with me? Am I not attractive enough? Maybe I talk too much...or maybe I'm not enough." It took me so long to trace my relationship issues back to the womb. Even before that to when my father was growing up to understand his way of loving me. He loved me the best way he could, I'm certain, but he loved himself more at times. I'm okay with that. He's human. We can only get so close to perfection before we fuck up. I am the perfection, the rest is the fuck up. So thanks dad. I'm glad you got it right. 💯

At 14yrs old, and with a body that betrayed my age. A grown black man followed me for several blocks. I had to run, and try to shake him. I hid in a store. This happened to me in plain-sight, in daylight, with many people around. But no one cared enough to help me. And when I told someone what happened. I was told to shake it off, and “it could have been worse.”, or my personal favorite, “Nothing happened right..”. #OwnYourMisogynoir

The fact that most black girls have a story like this… Because our bodies are hyper-sexualized and targeted before most of us even hit puberty. Black boys and men are taught to obtain their pleasure from our bodies at ANY cost, even if that includes “casual” infidelity, physically or emotionally harming us, or being outright pedophilic predators. “Idc about how old she is. Look at her body, she grown.” It’s disgusting. You wonder why black girls grow up feeling the same way around black men, as black men feel around cops? You wonder why we’re so distrusting and “damaged” and “bitter” by the time we get older? #ThisIsWhy.

One of the scariest parts of this aspect of the black community is black girls who tell their families or adult figures in their lives are very often not believed. Or they are told to dress different. Its made to be either non existent or they’re mentally made to feel @ fault.

Its soo much wrong with this cycle that just creates more predatory, predominately male creeps and pedophiles every year.
