“I can completely understand you on that last bit…” Eryn replied with a shudder. She’d been subjected to Harley’s…”experiments” far too many times, so she knew exactly why Karin was reacting the way she was.
“But that’s good! I’m glad Bahus has been giving you good food. I just hope Harley hasn’t been too, ahem, rough with you, Karin…”
“I doubt she can really bring herself to be rough when it comes to her studies. If anything she just goes into some of the more personal details.” Karin answers her voice calm during the first sentence, but gradually showing a mixture of disgust, fear, and almost anger at the second.
“Let me know…..” Ethel interjects, a much more serious tone in her voice, knowing what the fairyologist is capable of doing when she is lost in her research, but just hearing the tone in her voice was enough to send Karin to be defensive for Harley.
“Now now Ethel, I appreciate the sentiment, but you don’t go around trying to kill your friends.” Karin answers, trying to drive both the intent of the discussion and the topic of discussion away from the topic of killing.
“Okay.” Was the only real response Ethel would give. “Hopefully Harley has learned to be more considerate. Has Fang changed at all Eryn?”
“Well he’s still got his downsides, being lazy and greedy and a big glutton, but he’s gotten more responsible lately to kind of balance things out.” Balance was a good word for that, or at least Eryn thought so. Fang definitely had gotten more mature overall ever since the whole Vile God and Goddess event, and it showed more often than not.
“He’s definitely much better than when he and I first met. It’s almost surprising that it’s the same person...funny how that works, considering how much I despised how he acted back then and ended up falling in lo...” Eryn stopped herself and covered her mouth, her face turning rather red. “I-i-i mean...n-nevermind! F-fang is just Fang, let’s just leave it there!”
