     No matter what the dark-haired male thought, there was no WAY she’d be sleeping with him. He was cute, that much was true but he was also doing illegal activity, taking money from people who didn’t deserve it and was just — to put it bluntly, aggravating. “ In your dreams. “ A roll of her eyes comes along before she turns on her heels and begins her trip back to the city where she’d be meeting with her parents.

Nate grinned as he watched her walk away after she spat her final words at him, and he called out after her. “Damn right it will be. But hey, don’t go pretending that it won’t be in your dreams too baby. And when it is, just remember that you can stop dreaming, and get yourself the real thing any time you want to. You just gotta find me” He stood there watching her go for another moment, before he turned on his heels, the smirk still plastered on his lips as he practically skipped away, off to do some other job that required his attention.

     Beatrice overlooked the transaction, standing to attention as the family was welcomed with their daughter once again. The blonde waved over to the family and the baby, the vigorous amounts of ‘thank you’s that had been pointed towards the two of them had pulled a forced smile out of her. A shake of her head following considering she really didn’t do any work. The envelope is what had caught her attention, Bea wasn’t exactly sure if the stranger had caught that she was standing right there so as soon as he released the package to the inside of his coat she swiped it out easily and hopefully unnoticed. Spinning and shoving it back into the mother’s pocket as she turned back to give a widened grin at the male. “ I’d rather choke. ”

Of course the mercenary noticed that the attractive blonde had swiped his envelope from his pocket and returned it to the pocket of his clients, but truthfully, he didn’t care. His attention was now fully devoted to the attractive blonde, and he was willing to let the money go this time. Nate’s eyebrows raised at the girl’s words, but his grin only widened. Whatever she might have been saying, there was a certain tension between them that told Nate that this wasn’t a lost cause yet. “Well hey, you’re in luck then, because I can definitely arrange that too” He said, not missing a beat as he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, making what he meant by his words exceedingly clear.

     The vigilante continued to cradle the child, a peak of a smile shone on her lips at the content baby girl. Part of her had always wanted a kid but with how things were going — the family she was involved with, it just didn’t look like the best idea. Plus she was only in her early twenties, this is the only time she really had to LIVE there was no time for a child. Beatrice could feel the chocolate hues stuck on her an unsettling feeling washing over her. Her eyes flicked over to the male, head turning to give him a shunning action. “ Do you have a problem?? ”

When the girl turned towards him and snapped out a venomous remark, Nate’s smirk only widened. He opened his mouth to reply, but before any words escaped him, he caught sight of his clients approaching, and he raised a single finger to indicate that he would address her in just a moment. Taking the baby from the girl’s arms, he handed the bundle back to the mother, whose face lit up brightly at the sight of her child, while her husband handed over an envelope, which Nate opened and pulled the money out from, quickly counting it to make sure it was all there, before he returned it into the envelope which he then put into his inside coat pocket. He watched as the family walked away, giving them a cheery wave, before he turned back to the blonde girl. “So, you wanna fuck?” He asked

    Beatrice decided against moving in on the situation just yet, instead sat across the park lot with her head tilted, arms crossed. Keeping up her uninviting demeanor just incase someone wanted to start a conversation with her, which didn’t happen to often. The blonde wasn’t raised by the MOST caring people in the world – though her fathers did love her, just as she had loved them the three of them butted heads all the time. Even when she was a child they just hadn’t met the same wavelength. So what gave the girl her extremely mothering nature was beyond her, she figures it came from the teen that had birthed her. A woman she’d never met before and yet still felt like she BELONGED with her birthmother. Beatrice pushed through the few people to get to the other side of the park, betting that this was the time the male needed her to take over. Gentle hands take the child into her arms without even speaking a single syllable to the mercenary. She begins to bounce the child, softly of course just giving it little bops all while she took a seat on the bench placed in front of them. The loud cries of the baby had slowly but surely been turned into peaceful silence.

Nate watched as the hot blonde girl approached and took the baby in her arms, for once not having much of anything to say about the situation. He just watched, feeling glad that he didn’t have to deal with the thing anymore. He leaned himself back into the bench and let out a sigh, his eyes taking in the details of the girl, his desire to have her rising quickly as he did so. Nonetheless, in his experience, when he spoke, especially to women that he wanted, it just as often led to people storming off angrily as it did to him getting what he wanted. And since he wasn’t keen on the idea of having to go back to looking after the baby himself, he held his tongue and continued to sit there  just silently watching and admiring.

“You need quote unquote “impending doom” to do either of those things? Laaaame.” Nate said, falling into a nearby chair and pulling out a Hot Lip candy from his pocket, which he bit into with relish. “You do realize sweetheart, that really, your life could have ended at any moment since the very first breath you took? Your doom has actually been impending all along”

“You’d think with all of the superheroes around town people wouldn’t dare even attempt to break the law, but no - they still do. Not that I’m a hero, or would even know anything about that; it was just a thought.” 

“Hm sounds fake.” 

“So which superhero are you then? You may as well tell me now, because I’ll it figure out either way.”

Nate held the newly secured baby awkwardly in his arms, looking down at it with an expression of uncertainty. When he had agreed to track down the kidnappers of the baby, kill them, and then return to baby back to it’s parents, who had hired him, he hadn’t thought at all about the brief period where he would have to look after the baby himself. Having been raised to be a killer, he wasn’t exactly sure how to be nurturing to the crying little thing. When it refused to stop crying despite his best efforts, he felt his temper flaring and decided to put the baby down on the bench in front of him for it’s own safety “Okay, what the hell am I even supposed to do with this thing?” He said aloud to himself, his annoyance evident in his tone.
