“Oh, well,” Blanche tried to find a good starting place. “I love to read. And play music, especially the violin. And when I can, solve mysteries.” She said with a light smile. “What about you?”
Leighton’s eyes perked up at the last bit Blanche told them. “Solve mysteries? Now isn’t that an interesting past time. For myself, well I paint, hike, and have a tendency to look for things, like mysteries or anything really.”
“ fine. o fair maiden, would you help me grace my lungs with wanted nicotine, and lend us a light, please? ”
“I’m not so fond of the term “maiden” but the “please” makes up for it.” Leighton says before reaching into their satchel to pull out the lighter they used and handed it out to them.
“Exactly,” He nodded his head, “But I don’t think they care about that. As long as they get us through our classes without killing anyone they’ll probably think it’s a success.” He chewed on his lower lip. “Did you do that video diary thing yet that we have to do?”
“How many students here do they really think are capable of murder? They’re not their parents and besides, even if they did attempt don’t you think they’d no their fate would be worse then being sent to the isle?” Leighton questioned before moving on to answer the others question. “I started. If started meant opening up my computer and staring at it. What about yourself?”
Because some people have asked me when trying to plot for my ideas and I didn’t have any here’s a wanted connection plot page. It’s still a bit messy since some slots won’t go where I want them too. A regular, non relation page will be up later once I think of more things.
Blanche gave them a smile and followed after. “Alright then.”
As they walked Leighton tried to start up a new conversation. “So if you don’t mind me prying, tell me a bit about yourself Blanche?”
“That’s because I don’t think they give a shit about how we act in day to day life just as long as we’re not killing anyone along the way,” He rolled his eyes. “So yeah, maybe asking us what we think would benefit us the most in terms of classes might be really fucking useful. But like I said, they don’t care. It’d probably get too far out of control that way too.”
Leighton shook their head, this had been something they thought about a lot when younger seeing as their aunt was the one who home schooled them to their Grandmother’s wishes. “They want us to conform to their ideals is all though they haven’t realized that it doesn’t work for everyone and great things can come from unconventionality. And for that to be done they need a specific curriculum, as boring as it is.”
“Boo hoo. I don’t need your advise.”
“By all means then, be prepared to get hit by the door the next moment someone comes out.”
“I’m free now to go, if that’s alright with you.” Blanche offered. “And don’t be love! It’s quite alright.” Blanche said with a smile.
Leighton nodded their head and then gestured down the hall for the other one to follow. “Alright then, my room would be this way.”
“I’m going to get revenge, of course.”
“Really now. I’d like to see how you manage such a thing against little, ol’ me.”
“They did? Well you’ll have to define talk. If you mean greet them and stay for a friendly chat, perhaps. —But if by that you meant, sitting and chatter on and on about you then no I am not. ”
“But isn’t chatting not talking? You both move your lips and words come out so some would classify it the same, no? Good. I would refrain from talking to them if I were you. They have nothing interesting to say in the slightest.”
“God dammit. What do you want?”
“For you to step away from the door. Loitering in the halls isn’t the best way to avoid classes you know. I suggest the gardens next time.”
“I’ll stick to what I know. The Kingsley who teamed with my bitch of an aunt and threatened my mother. Then banned her from her home. Our home.”
“Yes, that would be my mother who did all of that but from her view it never sounded all that wrong. Eye of the beholder no? Besides what can you do about it here now? Besides trying to give me the cold shoulder and all?”
“That would be nice.” Blanche said with a smile. “It’s nice to meet you Leighton. And I’m going well myself. I guess I’m just a bit dazed after just learning flowers could speak.” She said with a light laugh.
“Just come over to my dorm room whenever you’re free and I’ll set up a meeting, the flowers themselves don’t have much to do so they’re always free.” Leighton returned the smile sheepishly. “I’m sorry for making you feel that way with such a realization.”
Oh. Another Wonderland goer. Suddenly talking plants seemed to make that much more sense. “Well I haven’t had my fair share of talking plants before,” He said honestly, “But I feel like that should be some sort of class here. How to wrangle talking plants.” He smiled, a little more than amused.
“If they included a side coarse about talking animals and other objects as well then I think that would benefit many people as they don’t really teach you about how to deal with these type of things in “normal” day to day life.” Before going to Wonderland Leighton had dealt with nothing similar to any of these things and if their reactions to all of this was the same as their families when they told them then a class like that would be much needed.
“Boring? I wouldn’t say boring. Although us Tremaines like to stick to tradition, even if that means hating the entire Kingsley name.”
“Would you dull prefer by chance? How does tedious fair with you? Their are many things the rest of Kingsleys do that I’d rather stay away from. I like the idea of figuring out things for myself, disregarding the norms and all. You should try it sometime, I’m certain you won’t be disappointed.”
“My grandparents say the same thing. But my dad’s a thief and my mom hits people she doesn’t like with a frying pan, so that kinda went out the window.”
“A frying pan of all things, now that’s peculiar though she could do some real damage with that if needed. My mother runs her father’s old trading company but she had many more adventures to better places when she was younger.”
