yukine, the shinki of yato
all tangled up :.
foolslittlesister:
Nanako looked downwards towards the sidewalk, giving up the fight with the scarf. Her face flushed with embarrassment, partly because a stranger had to help her, partly because she was found alone. Luckily her scarf was still covering the lower half of her face, so the boy in front of her couldn’t see the redness.
“I was showing my friends some dance moves. Then the wind blew, and my scarf got stuck in the branch. I didn’t notice at first, and only got knotted up after I twirled.” The only reason she was able to actually speak was because the boy didn’t look like he was that much older than her; otherwise, Nanako would’ve been too shy to speak.
She didn’t mention that all of her friends left her once she started fighting with the scarf. Their laughs still echoed in her head, only making her feel more embarrassed.
“You should be more careful.” Yukine said quietly, frowning as he worked on freeing her scarf. Her words struck him as odd, since there was no one else to be seen and she had said she was hanging out with her friends. With a sigh, he finally managed to weave the fabric from the branches and tugged it free, with little damage done to the scarf itself.
Showing the freed end to the girl, he casually let it drop before moving his gaze to look at her. Instinctively, he smiled, his lips curling in a small and gentle way. Deciding to press forward with his question, the blond raised an eyebrow after a moment, hands burrowing into his pockets as he spoke. His gaze dropped from her face as he cast it off to the side, avoiding eye contact while he was asking something so direct.
“If you were with your friends before, why aren’t they here now?”
That’s all for right now! I owe two more starters but I’ll have to get to them later, since I’m due to go eat some breakfast & then get started on some other things. If anyone needs to contact me, hmu over IMs or Skype ~
seriously, f*ck winter :.

“W-What are you laughing at?!” Yukine barked, suddenly glaring daggers at the voluptuous blonde woman that was seemingly laughing at his current predicament. Having been preoccupied with watching a bird in one of the trees nearby, he’d nearly collided with the older woman only to dodge out of the way just in time, instead finding his foot catching a small patch of ice thanks to the early morning frost. Slipping forward, he’d managed a provide a good display of early morning entertainment for everyone around, inciting laughter from someone he now deemed partially responsible.
“H-Hey, you... Watch where you’re going!” He hissed, gathering himself hastily from the cold ground, amber eyes burning almost as much as his pink-stained cheeks.
no place like home :.
(ft. @theflashingprince)
If there was one thing Yukine had learned since running away from home, it was that most people purposefully overlooked the homeless. The fairy tale belief that others were inherently good and willing to help out someone in need was such a load of bullshit, it was almost laughable. Yukine had even seen people flinch away from those that occupied the streets, as if misfortune was something you could catch. The young blonde side, shifting slightly on his makeshift cardboard bed as he tried to make himself comfortable despite the biting cold that came along with the setting sun. He’d given up his place at the shelter tonight in order to let another, older woman have someplace warm to sleep that night. There was still so many people affected by the city’s recent tragedy, and Yukine was much more capable of spending the night outside, even if he had already considered sneaking into the shelter just to sleep on the floor somewhere.
Just because he wanted someplace warm, doesn’t mean he was going to go through the effort of sneaking in, though.
He sat in an alley now, just off the corner of a main street’s sidewalk. Those passing by could easily see him, and he them, however no exchange was made. Occasionally, someone reached a hand out to drop a few coins in the cup placed next to him. With a nod or a quickly offered ‘thanks’, that was the only interaction he and the various citizens of Bellevue had. Burrowing his face further into the jacket he’d been able to salvage from his former home, Yukine continued to watch the streets, eyes barely peeking out from above the collar of his jacket, and below the rim of his knit hat that he wore.
all tangled up :.

“Hey, stop pulling at it...” Yukine said quietly, a slight bite to his voice as he approached the younger girl. She’d managed to get her scarf caught in a nearby bush, one of a rather prickly and annoying variety. He sighed as if helping her was the biggest inconvenience he’d come across that day, before reaching out a hand to help untangle the scarf.
“How’d you even get it this tangled..?” He asked, amber eyes flitting to gaze over at the smaller, as he found himself holding back his own prickly personality in favour of being nice to the girl. He didn’t believe in being mean to girls, after all.
Heyo fellow memes ~ It’s Cel, finally back on the dash without a mod guise after what feels like forever. Yukine was a member in the group before, but I never did much on him. I am much more prepared for him now, though! If anyone would like a starter from this smol homeless child, please leave a like on this post. I won’t set a cap just yet, so feel free to like it on multiple muses! Please be aware that I may come and bother you privately for plotting if I can’t think of something or if I want to run something by you ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
“I’m your friend, of course I care!” - Writes down- [ From Link]

“Really? We’re friends?” Yukine repeated out loud, before scoffing quietly. He remained seated beside the fellow homeless blonde, knees drawn up to his chest as he turned his gaze back towards the scenery in front of them. The park was fairly busy due to it being a weekend, but the weather was nice. It wasn’t until he felt a jab in his side again, a signal that the other wanted him to read another note.
However, when he looked at the other, Yukine simply smiled -- there was a slight vulnerability in his smile, but he felt comfortable admitting to at least an inkling of a friendship with the other. They led similar lives: Link could at least understand parts of his life. That alone made him feel more assured in his decision to name the other his friend.
“I’m just kidding!” Yukine said, a rare glimpse of laughter escaping his throat as he smiled more confidently, waving the silent male’s concerns off.
“You know I’m always here for you, right?”

“Yeah sure, whatever.” Yukine grumbled, glaring while his lips curled downward into a frown. His eyes held no real meanness behind them, although there was a slight tinge of irritation in his body posture. Despite this, he made no effort to move from his place beside the other, instead turning his gaze forward with an indignant sigh. He wasn’t quite sure where the officer’s concern came from: although originally he thought maybe he wasn’t as stealthy as he thought he was when it came to shoplifting.
“If you really wanna hang around some kid, I’m not stopping you. Just don’t blame me when other adults start looking at you weird.”
“Sleep at my place tonight.”

Hiyori. If there was one person he’d learned to appreciate since running away from home, it was the friendly brunette who had a slightly weird wrestling obsession. Yukine liked her, perhaps a little more than he should for a kid of his age -- but that was saying a lot. He knew that he could trust her, at least more than most.
“Thanks, Hiyori! That’d be great,” Yukine said in response, smiling at the older girl. Besides, he couldn’t turn down Hiyori even if he tried, “are you sure that’s okay, though?”
“Where did all those bruises came from?”
` concern meme // accepting
“Nowhere!” Was his initial response, although Yukine immediately regretted the blatant lie. After hearing the other’s question, his defenses had raised instantly and he’d snapped, angling his bruised arm away from the university professor slightly. Yukine frowned, looking up at him with a burning gaze, “I mean they’re nothing. I just -- fell over -- it’s none of your business!”
Yukine lifted his opposite hand, moving to grip his injured arm gently, yet in a desperate attempt to cover up the marks. As if he was going to tell Komui about his recent run in with his father, who had been drunk at the time. Huffing quietly, the blonde broke eye contact with the older male, turning away.
“Leave me alone!” He threw over his shoulder, before running off.
“Let me clean your wounds…”

“I’m fine!” Yukine snapped, turning on his heel abruptly to move away from the stranger. He didn’t know this man, for starters. Like hell he was going to let some random dude bandage him up – the cut wasn’t even that bad. Surely, the scrape on his hand looked a lot worse than it was, and he wouldn’t die from such a small injury.
Who the hell carried an umbrella around on a sunny day, anyways? Weirdo.
“Stop keeping your phone in silent, you got me worried!” - Yamu
` concern meme // accepting
Yukine wasn’t used to people caring about him. The feeling of tightness in his chest when Yamuraiha said she was worried was unfamiliar, and a little daunting. Having grown up in an environment where it was every person for themselves, with the exception of his sister’s bravery when he was much younger, Yukine never thought that maintaining contact was something that should be high on the priority list.
Apparently he was wrong.
Holding the phone close to his ear, Yukine sighed into the receiver. He wasn’t really sure how to respond to her concern, instead settling for silence. As he gazed around at the busy streets from the shelter of the alley he was hanging out in, the blonde frowned before turning away, heading further into the maze of backstreets in Bellevue’s West Side district.
“S-Sorry, I guess...” Yukine said quietly, the word feeling unnaturally heavy on his tongue.
“Did you need something?”
RP starters: Concern.
“It’s midnight, where the hell were you?!”
“Stop keeping your phone in silent, you got me worried!”
“Blood? Are you bleeding?”
“I don’t like the idea of you walking down the streets all alone.”
“I thought I would never see you again…”
“We should get you to hospital.”
“Where did all those bruises came from?”
“I have the right to be worried!”
“Sleep at my place tonight.”
“I don’t feel safe letting you be alone when you’re in that shape.”
“Please talk to me about it.”
“Let me take care of you.”
“You need to rest now. Don’t move.”
“How many times have I told you to not go there?”
“You could’ve died, you know…”
“I don’t care if you don’t want my help, I’ll do it anyways.”
“This time you got yourself into a hospital. I think that’s a sign.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“You need to stop doing stupid shit like that or you will get yourself killed.”
“I’m your friend, of course I care!”
“You know I’m always here for you, right?”
“You’re not okay.”
“I’m just trying to help you.”
“Let me clean your wounds…”
“Why did you do it? Tell me.”
