Some nights I can’t get to sleep. Most nights I just don’t want to.
I’ll be very close to falling asleep and then I’ll decide to look up something that has suddenly come to mind or finish an article I was reading earlier.
Sometimes I just start making beats or writing songs. A good 80% of all of my musical endeavors have occurred between midnight and 5 am.
My uncle once told me that he’s never had a good idea after 1 a.m. and I felt kind of bad for him. But he doesn’t have bags under his eyes.
“Perfect Day” was originally inspired by a ham sandwich I had eaten. It was so amazing that it had turned my day into a perfect day. It was delicious, so delicious that I decided to dedicate a song to it. I really liked where I was going with the song so I changed some of the lyrics around and now it just sounds like any ordinary song. Most people wouldn’t of guessed that it was about a ham sandwich.

I’m not sure if I have seasonal affective disorder or if it’s just that the despondency of being a Cubs fan feels heaviest at this time of the year.

“We Didn’t Start the Fire” is a fucking terrible song.

Happy Moon Landing Day, y’all
Forty-six years ago today, Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon.
Twenty-three years ago today, I was born. That day is, at this moment, the halfway point between when man first walked on the moon and the present. So that’s kind of neat.
It’s really weird when you go from “getting” this song to living it.
