“As a neighbor and a friend, I cannot let you go out in that.” Toryland pointed to her neighbor’s current outfit. It was okay for an average person but someone with Evelyn’s figure and cheekbones she couldn’t allow for her to take an L.

Dark hues stared at the material and the thread along with the sharp needle. The twenty-one year old felt in her element, sewing clothes, making them, designing them. Creativity was part of her personality, she couldn’t turn it off or tone it down, that’s why when the urge to make a skirt popped into her mind so did the idea to call Angelica to model it for her. “Can you stop moving, if not I’m gonna poke you again.” She spoke, hemming up the woman’s waistline on the skirt.

Toryland squinted her dark-brown hues to get a better look at her website. She decided to keep herself distracted by the bright idea of getting her own website for her clothing line developed and when she found Amira had a specialty in web development she decided to give her a call. “Doesn't that picture look a little distorted to you?”
like this if you want a closed starter !!!
“ That’s just part of growing up, isn’t it? Noticing the little quirks we you got from your family that you don’t like. Don’t get me wrong, it’s also one of my favorite restaurants and I am pretty sure both my colleges and my stomach hate me because of it, but I prefer home-made Mexican any time. Oh, you’re from Beverly Hills? “ he questioned before chuckling lightly. “ Fine, we can try it sometime, but fair warning, it’s not pretty.” Alexander decided to nod along with her words. “ Oh, definitely. You are doing more for the world than we and our ancestors ever did. Sometimes I wonder how we prevailed as an species, but you give me hope for a brighter future every time I watch the news, no doubt. “
“What kind of quirks you get from yours if you don’t mind me asking? I’m assuming you’re a good cook? But I must agree, home-made Mexican food is always great because you’re putting a bit of yourself in your food. Yes, I’m originally from Jamaica, then Queens, New York and lastly Beverly Hills.” She answered, with a proud smile. “I’d be the judge of that. It can’t be as bad as me, I was so drunk I one time I bought four kittens.” She laughed at the memory. “On the behalf of us youngins, that makes me proud to know you appreciate our hard work. I’m Toryland, by the way, and you are?”
Tony exited the coffee shop with two portable cups, one in each hand. Their hues, wandering around the street for a few seconds, looking for a familiar face before taking a deep, tired breath. After an over twelve hours shift, all the nurse wanted was to go back home and sleep for a bit before starting another day. However their plans were foiled by an old friend asking to meet and talk over a cup of coffee, and now they had decided to run, leaving the nurse with a conundrum.
“Shit” they whispered under their breath before turning around, thrusting one of the cups towards the nearest person they could see “Hey. Do you want free coffee? It’s clean” they promised, rolling their eyes at themselves. Only they could make free coffee sound poisonous. “I bought it for my friend, but he disappear and I sure as hell am not chasing after him just to give him a cup of coffee, it seems like a waste to throw it away, so—” the brunette explained, looking at the other with a tired smile “It’s black, if that helps.”
Toryland texted away on her phone, as she sat outside the coffee shop. It was a beautiful day out and it was almost resistant to her time in Beverly Hills. How she sometimes missed her old life, while being in the small town. She had a pretty good day, her mother didn’t put to much stress on her or on herself, she had a date with a hot guy later and her clothing line was doing amazingly well, which made her almost a million dollars richer. Life was as sweet as it got at this point. "Huh? What?” She said, totally taken off guard by the stranger’s sudden presence. “Um, yeah sure why not? Black isn't my usual but I do keep sugar in my purse so it’ll be bearable. Thanks.”
Top 5 people who you want to get to know better!
Hmm, I’d have to say, alex, lauren, wren and my baby, arlo (because i know he isn’t that much of a sweetheart).
.
“Ahh, ok”, Lauren nodded at the girls explanation and started gathering her stuff again. “Please tell your mom I’m not usually scattering my clothes all over the front yard”, she laughed while stuffing some shirts back into the box. She thought about saying something else but still wasn’t sure whether the girl wanted that conversation.
“She doesn’t mind, I’m sure her living room, is disarray as we speak. If anything, she’d probably pick out the things that she’d probably wear.” She chuckled. Sighing, the least she could do was help her put her clothes back inside the box if anything. Picking up a few shirts, she placed them into the box.
“Easier said then done, especially since I don’t have a significant other. I’m planning a wedding for my mother who’s getting remarried in a few weeks.” He sighed and raised an eyebrow at her, tapping his fingers against the counter of the bar. “There are plenty of things to do around here besides getting drunk.”
“That’s sweet. I know mommy, is telling all of her friends about it. I would never try to plan my mother’s wedding, well, if she ever decided to get married again.” Toryland raised an eyebrow at the other. “Like?”
“Huh, if it makes you feel better, words spill from my lips all the time. I’m like the champion ofword vomit,” she responded, referencing Mean Girls. “And, yeah, I think I realized the magazines are somewhat harmful to women, like, at age 25, but by that time, it was too late. I still spend over $100 on subscriptions a month, and, at this point, it’s kind of an addiction.” She spoke candidly. “Well, when you get that famous, you’ll have to invite me on your show and bring me to the cool Hollywood parties.”
“My father taught me if I had nothing meaningful to say that I should just shut up...something that I have yet to learn, if I‘m being honest.” She shrugged, thinking back to her crazed biological dad. “Magazine’s are so pointless, no one really reads them anymore , well not the people who age range it targets. I can’t remember the last time I read a magazine, now blogs are where it’s at.” She said matter of factly. “By that time, you’d probably be married with kids.”
“you really trying to play me like you don’t care, tor ? we both know that you do. but one the flip side, i’m not admitting shit, so you can think whatever you want.” he responds, but he’s grinning softly because, despite but much they annoyed each other, she was technically right. "oh, please. don’t threaten me with that i’m gonna go elsewhere shit. one, we both know you wouldn’t. you would miss me. who else are you gonna find that just share their weed, gives you free coffee ? no one. you love me, but the bullshit.” he teases softly. “yeah, yeah.” his eyes roll, making his way out to her car. despite all the bullshit, he didn’t like hearing that she had a bad day. “what happened ? anyone’s ass i need to kick ? “
Toryland rolled her eyes. “Why are you so convinced somehow that I care? I will don’t worry your cute head over it.” She smiled at him, maybe there was some truth to his words, she did have a special place in her heart for the male. “Admit it, you want me to stay at your side because you love looking at my pretty face and I’m easy to talk to. I’m sure I could fine someone...: She trailed off, her voice was high pitched indicating that she was unsure or lying. It was a mixture of both. The brunette smiled at his quickness to defend her honor. “No. It’s my mother, I don’t know if she’s getting better or worse..I don’t want to lose her.”
Alex grinned. “ At least it was that and not something worst, right? Family is after all the one thing you cannot change. You are right, Taco Bell is a great place. I used to go a lot back in New York. Trust me, drunk, sad me has spent more than I am able to accept, you don’t wanna know. It gets ugly “ he couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking his head at himself. “ Don’t forget destroying the planet and being the reason behind climate change. Your generation eats Tide Pods, but you’re also doing a lot more for our and future generations than most of us did. “
“It could’ve been, I’m sure I’ll discover some more bad traits down the line. It’s cheap and delicious I don’t care who tries to compete with them, they’ll lose. In Beverly Hills, my friends hated me because I bought Taco Bell damn near every day. You’re not steering my curiosity if anything I’m more intrigued but I’d let the topic rest for the moment.” She smiled and playfully winced at his words. “Yet older people blame us for all the problems. Uh, that would be Gen Z, those fuckin’ idiots. We’re very hung up on change which is a good thing, socially and personally.”
She had just started gathering her stuff when she saw the girl at her neighbours house who obviously didn’t want to be seen. “Don’t worry, I got this!”, Lauren said after seeing she’d returned to her car. She didn’t want to make her feel like she had to help her. “Do you live there?”, she added, nodding to the house. So much for making a good first impression…
“The heavens are good then,” Toryland mumbled under her breath before smiling politely at the other. It’s not that, the girl didn't want to entirely help the other but she wasn’t dressed for the occasion either. “Technically no, but my mother does. I’m kind o helping her out around the house, you know how it is.” She said nonchalantly, not really wanting to go into detail of her mother’s condition.
“what’d i tell you about calling me sissy?” he groans, rather dramatically, hand pushing hers away as he squeezed his cheek. this was common for them, the banter, and she knew exactly how to get a rise out of him, especially after a long day. “i’m gonna cut your damn ass off if you keep being rude to me, tor.” he speaks, though they’re both likely aware that she’s one of his favorite people to smoke with, and that wasn’t likely to happen. “charge me gas money my ass. i’m gonna charge you money for smoking my weed.” his eyes roll, moving to finish up some closing procedures so they could leave, but not before getting her a coffee how he knew she liked it.
“Like I actually listen to what you tell me, especially if it’s something I don’t wanna hear. Plus I think you lowkey love it.” She giggled, puckering her lips in his direction. They were like two kids on a playground, but instead of physically harming the other to let the other know that they were somewhat liked, they verbally assaulted each other. Which was close enough. “If you cut me off, I’ll go elsewhere and I won’t have any contact with you and you’d miss me.” She stated matter of factly, flipping her long braids off to one side of her shoulder. At least she hoped he would. “I pay you enough with my presence.” Once he finished locking up and made her coffee, they made their way towards her car. “I talk a lot of shit, but I needed this. My day has been trash.”
He nods repeatedly as the other explained her reason behind her pictures, scratching the back of his neck “ That’s just mean. Everytime I see something I definitely want to eat it and I getangry. I spent like ten dollars on Taco Bell two nights ago because someone I know posted a picture. I was completely sober “ he mirrors her laugh. “ In your defence, other generations have their own flaws. At least you didn’t messed up the country’s economy for younger generations. “
She made a face, indicating that there may be some truth to his assumption. “I won’t fight you on that one, it runs in my family. Like you need a reason to spend ten dollars at Taco Bell, it’s bomb as hell. I wonder how much you’ve spent drunk, I actually wanna test that out now.” She gave him a suggestive look. “And planning seeds for a drug war or as they like to call it, a war on drugs, don’t forget about that. Okay, maybe my generation isn’t so bad in comparison.”
“After this I’m definitely going to never get married, and if I do I’m going to turn to alcohol in my time of wedding planning.” He sighed softly, running his fingers through his hair before he reached for his drink. He raised the glass to his lips and took a sip before setting it back down. “You’re right, I could just move them all the way to the back and they would never really know the difference. – Hey! I think I’m doing a pretty alright job for someone who’s never planned a wedding.”
“How do you know that your significant other doesn’t wanna play wedding planner?” It was her turn to sip on her drink, nothing like some health cherry juice with a hint of vodka, a perfect way to end her evening. “Problem solved, that’ll be twenty dollars. Why are you even planning a wedding anyway? Don’t you have anything better to do, like I don’t know...what do you guys do for fun around here aside from get drunk?”
