Hi this is Roxy I’m writing this to ask for help to get myself and my roommate lily out of an abusive house hold. Due to car trouble and some other medical bills, our meager savings have been depleted. Lily and I are both really anxious about having to move out. Since January, My dad and his girlfriend have been saying they’re going to move out and we have to find our own way, They have offered no means of help, or any advice to help us rent our first place. There was a period in January were we had to find a place to live on two weeks notice due to my Dad’s rashness and lack of effort to keep us informed. It ended up not happening then, thankfully, but ever since then it’s been clear that my Dad doesn’t care about our safety, and now we’ve been told that we need to be out by the end of June 2017, and this time it’s actually happening. We want out of this place, we are tired of living in fear and having to deal with my dad’s outbursts of anger at tiny things. (Not washing 4 hour old dishes, while he leaves cigarette butts and food scraps in the sink for days, etc.) not to mention that my Dad is fully aware of my transition, and despite saying he respects me and wants to “help out” he won’t show me an ounce of respect for my identity, proper pronouns, or proper name. So, we are looking for a place of our own. We both work part time, and without enough savings for the first month of rent and a deposit, we will be out of a place to live. We just really need the help. Lily and I have looked at places in the area, and gone on some tours and are looking for $1300 to cover the first month’s rent, and the security deposit. Anything left over will be be used to cover medication expenses or anything that might arise (like more car repairs, or necessities). Thank you for reading and any money you can spare, even if it’s just a dollar will help us out a lot.
