Last concept for Mex-23 . . . . Moving on to a new project.
I feel there’s still tons of things to design for her, like her hand blades and feet blades too, there could be some cool arrangements for those. It’s been really fun.

Another version of X-23, older and less savage.
oh, what about this motif for X-23? Using a teardrop shape and high contrast to express the anger building up on Laura’s heart. It’s a lot of fun doing the messy hair on her . . . . I feel like all of my characters are going to have it from now on hahaha.

So these following sketches are explorations of Mex-23 proportions and design. I really like the messy hair and I also like to add elements that flow outside of her silhouette.
I just thought as I’m writing this if it would be cool if her hair was used by her as a storage . . . . does that make sense?? what if she tied shit to her hair and ripped it off very savagely.
I’ve just experienced a life changing event in the last month, My mother passed away after 3 weeks on intensive care. I poured all of myself in these weeks in order to improve her health but in the end we reached the inevitable.
I’ve burned myself big time and until yesterday I returned home from Mexico with the purpose of getting back on my routine and mourn my Mother. My Aunt is the only family I have left and I’m all she has left as well. I’ll keep on guarding and loving Her.
You might’ve gone through something like this or maybe you haven’t, all I can tell you is: Have a safe net of people that love you and care for you, experience the feelings in your own time and way and continue your life, this will help you get out of any sad and dire situation.
It felt good to spend tons of hours last night coloring these sketches, these are part of the last batch of X-23 doodles for the coming week. Thanks for looking at my work I just reached 13K followers.

MEX-23 at school. Someone stole her lunch, yikes.
So here’s how the Mexican JUDICIAL carry MEX-23 into the operativos. The Narcos have huge walls surrounding their complexes and mansions. These female cops deploy in small numbers, and one carries “Laurita” on her back.
Once they reach the wall and secure all the exists, they use the strap attached to MEX-23 and sling her over, pulling the rope to open the locks and free her.
Whoever wants to live, runs out of the building and is arrested. . . . . the rest die.
Now how do they get her back, well they bring a type of flower that makes Laura very calm, “alcatraces” white flowers. . . . . maybe i’ll sketch that.
How come 90/100 of what you draw are females?
Because they are the BEST!
The Police women division takes MEX-23 and uses her as a weapon against criminals. She’s tied together and carried over like a bag.
The rope running through all the locks and ties is pulled to release her once she’s at a safe distance. She’s transported in this position which is deemed the safest for the police crew, although many have suffered deep cuts during the deploy operations.
Hey guys, thanks for the replies regarding the instagram account question.
Different subject, I thought these were the last sketches on the MEX-23 batch BUT it’s not the case . . . .. more coming hahaha.
do u have an instagram?
Should I? My friends keep pushing me to do it.
Are you by any chance colorblind?
Oh man, I don’t think so . . .. I hope not. . . . .. If I had a lot of traffic tickets I would definitively think I am.
hi! I'm also hoping to make money from my art (ideally concept art or illustration) but I know I'll need to be doing something else on the side to support myself, at least at first. what jobs did you have before you were able to support yourself with your art? I'm having trouble thinking of jobs that are steady but aren't too boring and aren't too far away from the field of art :/
Hi Anon, My first job was selling stuff door to door . . . as a shy boy this was super painful but it made me stronger in the end. Next I did web design and had an internship as an illustrator at a newspaper, then I got full time and the story goes on and on . . .. . . I never stopped doing art, I even kept posting everyday for 9 years straight sketches & concepts on an online forum . . .. . Make time for art even if you flip burgers.
12.5K Followers! Muchas Gracias! I’m gonna start posting again the last batch of x-23 sketches. I haven’t put too much thought and done callouts for her claws but I keep making them multicolored, like uhmmm, maybe the material is iridescent.
Hiya I'm a young Aussie and as I myself want to become a concept artist I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions about you and your art! Okay so number 1. What pieces of entertainment have you worked on? 2. Which college/ university did you graduate from? 3. Just to be perfectly clear what is a concept artist? And last but not least 4. Not too be rude but how much does the job pay? Thank you so much for answering these burning questions of mine! Thanks!
Hi Cocoa Panda . . . . that sounds adorable and tasty. 1) A lot of stuff but what I’m known for is for designing Halo Spartans for the last 2 installments. 2) I went to ITESM and UDEM from Monterrey Mexico. 3) Concept artists capture ethereal ideas and use art to communicate them visually, almost 100% is a job that requires group effort with other skills. 4) The pay goes all over the place, from free to 120K or more a year, it depends on your skill, networking and luck.
