i have a rant. i’ve thought about this for a while but something happened the past week that just had me hotted up:
y’all really don’t like black ppl having boundaries.
i remember what happened on @backwzzds page and how i was saying palm coloured ppl are weird when it comes to boundaries.
it’s a ridiculous cycle. we’ve been excluded from things for literal generations since white ppl discovered skin tone, so what did we do? just go where we’re wanted/make our own space.
but that’s a problem apparently.
they don’t actually care about ‘InClUsIvItY’ because if they did, you would see more non black ppl complaining about how almost every single y/n is white coded, but how many of them have you seen complaining? ofc they wouldn’t because why would they?
they want us to kick and scream and cry at the door when they don’t let us in. press our nose to the glass and say “i wish that was me” basically “hate from outside the club when we can’t even get in”
but why would i stand outside somewhere that doesn’t want to let me in being a fucking hater when i can just either 1:go somewhere that wants me or 2:just make my own club?
but when we make our own clubs, they’re entitled to make their way in cause how dare you not feel bad when i don’t let you do something? you have to accommodate me!
and when you don’t accommodate them cause why would you, only then do they want to scream about iNcLuSiViTy
i couldn’t give less of a fuck about palm coloured feelings. cause ik for a fact they would throw me under a train if they got the chance.
if you want black writers to be more InClUsIvE, go scream to white creators about how much you want them to be the same way.
im getting messages in my inbox saying “why don’t you specify it’s a black/black coded reader in the post?” why would i? you’re not my target audience 🤨 do you see “white coded reader” on posts? or “asian coded?” or “non-black coded?” (no hate to them just giving an example)

i am a black woman so obviously i’ll write with a black woman in mind cause that’s what ik best and can relate to, so if you want inclusivity, go read anything else
Remember y'all, white is not a race, it's a concept used to other anyone considered not white. Italians, polish people, Jewish people, all were at one point, and still are in many cases considered non white. Dismantling whiteness is not a personal attack on you, it's an attack on the societal mechanisms of white privilege and the othering of "undesirables"
I’m glad to see more black folks using womanist instead of feminist. Feminism has by far left us out, often. But not only that, womanism and womanist have been behind some of the largest movements for ALL black people. However, their center will always be black women and femmes, and I think it’s just more proof that you can center one population in your activism but can still be active for others.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but you need to stop tagging your fics under "xreader" when they're clearly "xblack!reader". You're clogging the tag with it. "xreader" is for non-bipoc. Just tag your things and leave "xreader" out of it, please. Thanks.
And exactly what do you think "non-bipoc" means? Exactly, WHITE PEOPLE. Y'all have been excluding BIPOC from your fics for DECADES, literal decades, telling us that your fics are inclusive when the most inclusivity you have is not explicitly naming hair color so that some white girl can imagine the reader as blonde or brunette. "He ran his hands through my hair" and "My pale skin glistened" are not inclusive.
You do not own the x reader tag. That tag should be meant for inclusivity, therefore readers of all races, sexualities, genders, etc. should be able to find fics under it as well. Everybody should have space in the x reader tag. Also, notice how I tag my fics as x reader as well as x black reader/x black!reader? That is so that people can look in both tags and find themselves and so that assholes like you can just scroll past my work if you think you're too good to read a story revolving around a black character when we've been stomaching your lack of representation for years. White people need to be tagging their works as x white reader since y'all want to blatantly describe your characters as white. Put your works in both tags, I don't care, but don't you dare act like you're entitled to the x reader tag.
White is not the default. Just because you've pushed everyone out of your spaces and forced us to create our own does not give you entitlement to that tag. BIPOC are just as entitled to be in fanfic spaces as y'all are, so shut the hell up and stop acting like you have the right to try and push us away. We're done with y'all thinking you can just dominate and exclude us without any push back. We're pushing back and we're going to make ourselves heard in the spaces you exclude us from as well as the spaces we create for ourselves.
hey. the celebrities and corporations are going to try tumblr. you may want to drive them off the site, or find them amusing, ie “well THIS one can stay.” they may try to engage with the culture. they may do their research. DO NOT ENGAGE. do not bother. don’t fucking acknowledge them. don’t mess with their heads. don’t reply to them as a bit. let them think this site is a lost cause. let them fizzle out and die
