Amusment Park Mishaps || Rosa and Hilda
Hilda froze at the girl’s answer. Her Dad had left her too. So she wasn’t the only one whose Father has betrayed them. Guilt slowly filled Hilda’s body, how could she be so inconsiderate? Sure she didn’t know but a kid alone on Father’s day wasn’t exactly a good thing, she should have known. Just imagine if her Dad was dead! He wasn’t dead was he? She’d never specified what ‘gone’ was for all she knew he could be dead. That thought made Hilda panic her anger quickly disappearing. Keeping her panic hidden she tried to think of something to say to make this this slightly less awkward. All she could think about was the huge mistake she has possibly made. What if she’d snapped at a girl about having lost her Dad when he was actually dead? If that was true there would be a lot of apologising needing to be done. Thankfully the girl too control, introducing herself as Rosa.
“Hilda,” she nodded her greeting. Chewing at the inside of her lip she looked at Rosa, now having heard her name she did feel familiar. Pushing that out of her mind she thought about her situation, she had to apologise. She’d been rude, she shouldn’t have snapped but she’d never expected that as an answer. For all of her life she’d never met someone who didn’t have a Dad as well and now she’d just snapped someone who had at the worst possible time. Groaning she ran her hands over her face.
“I’m sorry for saying that… it’s just… erg, it’s been a stressful day so far,” she grumbled. Rubbing the back of her neck she looked around her, immediately regretting that decision. As soon as she did anger started to brew inside of her again. Desperately she did her best to keep it under control. She didn’t want to snap at the girl again. The first time was bad, and embarrassing, enough. Clenching her fists she looked down to Glaceon by her feet causing the Pokémon to look up at her with worry clear in her eyes. Giving her partner a reassuring smile Hilda looked back to Rosa.
“So if you don’t have a Dad what are you doing here? It’s a bloody Father’s day festival in there,” she grumbled. She’d made the mistake of coming here today, surely both of them couldn’t have made the same mistake.
A gently smile slipped it's way across the bun head trainer's lips. "Nice to meet you Hilda." She said, her voice holding more of its usual preppy tone. Now that Rosa thought about it, the other trainer seemed rather familiar, almost as if she had heard someone describe her before. Plus the brunette also could have sworn that she had heard that name somewhere as well. However, Rosa shook the thought off. Maybe she was wrong after all, this was probably the first time she'd seen this girl after all. It was more likely that she was thinking of someone else.
A small airy laugh laugh escaped her. "It's okay!" The teen started. "I completely understand!" Rosa had always found that it was easier to laugh off the situation than to let it bring her down. After all, there was nothing she could really do about her father not being around. It had been his choice to leave her mother and her after all. Laughing it off was just an easier solution than to explain the situation. "Well," The trainer spoke, exaggerating the small word as she did so. “Well I going to battle some trainers in the old gym here after being in Joint Avenue most of the day, there's usually at least someone along the roller coaster to battle, but it’s closed cause of the festival.” A small sigh left her light pink lips, unfortunately that plan was a bust, she would’ve preferred to be battling rather than standing here in the middle of a father’s day festival. “I was heading out of here but the crowed was too think to get through.” There was a small moment of silence that had fallen between the two girl’s before Rosa had proceeded to break it again. “How about you Hilda?"
Re-encounters At Sea || Nate & Rosa
Nate had been on the Royal Unova before—twice actually. The first time was as a little kid with both of his parents. He didn’t remember much about that trip, and he had a feeling that he might have fallen asleep for most of it. The next time he’d been aboard the cruise ship, he’d spent his entire ride below deck battling any and all interested trainers. Then, before he knew it, the ship docked back in Castelia and he disembarked in the dark, having entirely missed the sunset that the other passengers were calling the most beautiful they’d ever seen. Someone else might have been upset with themselves for not managing their time wisely, but Nate waste just happy that his team—then only one Pokémon short of a full roster—had grown that much stronger.
For his third ride, which he’d decided to take on a whim, he was going to take it easy on the deck of Unova’s famous sunset cruise. Sierra, his Samurott, stood out beside him as the ship prepared to launch. If any of his other Pokémon who’d been there before knew they were riding on the ship, they’d probably be disappointed about not battling. Sierra, on the other hand, had an appreciation for the finer things in life. Nate was pretty sure that she’d enjoy the sunset even more than he would.
Just as the ship began to move away from the dock, Nate heard someone behind him say his name. He turned around, wondering who it could be, when he saw a very familiar trainer with long pigtails and a pink visor that matched his own.
"Rosa? No way!" He dashed forward to give the girl a quick hug, pulling her close for a moment before stepping back and grinning at her. "I didn’t know you were in Castelia today!" Between her jobs at Join Avenue and PokéStar Studios, Nate had started feeling like he never saw his friend anymore. But, she was here! On the Royal Unova with him! It felt like a crazy coincidence; even with both of them on the boat at the same time, the ship was so big it would have been totally possible for them to miss each other if one of them had chosen to stay below deck. Instead they’d both had the same idea on the same day. Nate decided to take that as a sign that they were definitely good friends.
The energetic teen couldn't help the light pink tint on he cheeks -though she hoped it didn't show and that the boy wouldn't notice- when her hometown friend pulled her into a quick hug. So it really was him here! "Well", Rosa started with a smile pressed to her lips, "I've been spending way to much time at Join Avenue so I decided it was time for a break and I haven't gone to Castalia just for the fun of it in a while." Even though as of late the girl had been spending increasing amounts of time managing the avenue she didn't mind, after all it didn't truly feel like work. It was fun to watch the Avenue she had been entrusted with watching over grow over time, and acting at the studios was fun even if the battles were pretty much scripted and she couldn't use her own team.
"I didn't know you where here today either," A small laugh escaped her at this, after all what were the odds that here they both were? "I thought you'd be off training." It had been quite sometime since she'd seen Nate. After all she was usually either she was either managing the Avenue or acting in movies at Pokéstar studios and he was often training it seemed. In all honesty the girl had missed her friend, after all it wasn't often that they ended up in the same place anymore.
"I just can't believe you here too!" Rosa blurted out without thinking first. It was just nice to think that out off all places they both had ended up here on the same day, especially considering how long it's been since the last time they saw one another. "So, how have you been?" Her voice held it's usual upbeat tone when she spoke the question and her sapphire eyes seemed to light up slightly. "It feels like is been so long!"
Amusment Park Mishaps || Rosa and Hilda
Hilda doesn’t hate many holidays. Sure she finds a couple of them pointless, Valentine’s Day for example, but there’s one holiday she hates more than any other, Father’s Day. The words felt like poison in her mouth every time she spoke it. What was the point in celebrating Fathers? In the end they were all going to end up hurting their precious little kids who they claim to love so much. In the end they’re going to walk out that door and never come back. In the end they’re going to rip out their loved ones hearts and crush them into a million pieces just like every other man will do, in the end. So what was the point in having a whole day dedicated to celebrating the glorious thing that was Fathers?
Every time this Arceus cursed day rolled around Hilda’s mood turned absolutely foul. Usually she would hide away in her room or away from civilisation until it was over, taking out her anger on pillow etc. This year however she decided to try and distract herself by going to the Nimbasa City theme park. She thought that a ride on the Ferris wheel after a battle, there was usually people around there looking for a battle, would put her mind off today. In hindsight that was a terrible idea.
The place was packed. It was full to the brim with happy children and their loving Daddies. Feeling her mood become even worse she shoved her balled fists into her pockets before pushing through the crowd. Keeping her head down she tried not to look at the happy families but that was still all she could see. She didn’t make it to the Ferris wheel before it became too much to bare. Growling she turned back whilst looking down at Glaceon by her feet.
“We’re getting out of here, remember stay close,” she growled. With her Pokémon now informed she started to push her way back through the crowd not caring how many people she shoved out the way, she just needed to get out.
Pushing her way towards the exit the crowd seemed to get thicker with every step. Worried that her and Glaceon would get separated she turned round to check that said Pokémon was behind her. It was then someone crashed into her, causing her to go crashing to the ground. Lying on her back she looked at the girl above her who quickly jumped up apologising.
“Are you ok?” the girl asked holding out her hand to help her up. Hilda looked at her hand but instead of taking it she stood up herself.
“I’m fine.” Hilda snapped quickly dusting herself down, “Watch where you’re going next time.” Looking at the girl in front of her she looked her over from top to bottom. Noticing she was alone Hilda narrowed her eyes in confusion, where was this girl’s precious Father? Stuffing her hands back in her pockets her mood grew even more foul than before.
“Where’s your precious Daddy? You lost him?” she hissed with a mocking tone. She knew it was mean but she couldn’t help it. Maybe if she wasn’t in such a bad mood she wouldn’t have snapped like she did but she couldn’t help it. Today had put her in such a terrible mood; it had even taken away her battling mood which was quite an achievement.
Clenching her fists even tighter as yet another happy family walked past she checked to see if Glaceon was still beside her. She just had to get out of here, it was all too much. All these happy families were just making her angrier by the second. It was like a parade, waving the one thing in front of her she could never have, a family with a Father that actually cared for her.
The brunette the feeling of guilt that washed over her hearing the girl she had knocked over snap. "Sorry," She said softly, which was unusual for the normally up beat girl. "my mind was kinda somewhere else." Light blue eyes looked the teen who now stood in front of her over. Obviously she was a trainer, like Rosa herself, but also was alone as well.
“Where’s your precious Daddy? You lost him?”
Upon hearing the girl's question she couldn't help but flinch slightly. However, despite this, a small laugh escaped her even though it held a hidden tone of sadness. "I guess you could say that." she said with a small smile on her lips. "He's been gone for about seven years now." Nervous energy filled the teen and she found herself fiddling with her fingers, that was not something she usually shared -especially with a stranger.
There was an uneasy tension that hung in the air between the two strange trainers, and despite what the other trainer had said Rosa decided she would break it. The smile she wore grew noticeably in size and she tried to shake the thoughts of her father aside. "Well anyway my name's Rosa"
Have you got your eye on anyone special?
"Maybe…. But that’s all I’m saying !"
What were the hardest moments you had when growing up?
”I’d have to say my Dad leaving… It was difficult on my Mom and I and I didn’t really know what was happening.”
Do you have a nickname? How’d you get it?
"heheh," A small smile tugged at the trainer’s lips at the question. "Well It’s probably obvious but I do have a few nicknames cause of my buns… Donut girl is just one of them. Do they really look that much like donuts?”
Rencounters At Sea || Nate & Rosa
The sun was just sitting in the evening in the late evening sky, casting an orange glow on the bustling city below. As a short, pigtailed trainer walked along toward the water, the sky seamed to grow darker by the second. Despite to night coming on, the teen was still as energetic as ever as she walked along the main street toward the pier that would be her destination with a slight skip in her step. The girl had spent majority of her day in the seaside city of Castalia. After wandering around it's busy streets and managing to snag a few of the city's famous castalia cones, she decided the best way to close the day, before turning in at the pokemon center, was to take a trip on the Royal Unova. After all, why not? She hadn't been on the cruise ship yet anyways.
After a while of walking, the energetic trainer finally found herself in front of the grand cruise ship. While in line to purchase her ticket to board the ship, the teen found herself rocking back in forth from heel to toe slightly with anticipation. Finally, after what seamed to be an hours wait to girl, even if in reality it was only a matter of minutes, she was able to head into the ship. The teen could barely keep her excitement in check as she walked inside. She hadn't been on a ship for quiet some time now, and never one like this
Sapphire blue eyes glanced about rapidly, taking in every detail around her. The crew member that greeted her upon entry had said something, but the girl was still yet to hear it. It wasn't that she was purposely ignoring her, no, it was just she was to excited to comprehend the words. After finally walking away the girl pondered her options. Should she try her had at battling here, or just go to the deck and enjoy the ride? Rosa took a moment to debate between the two but eventually chose the latter. Quickly, as fast as her small legs would carry her, the teen made her way outside and into the open air. However, when she closed the door behind her and turned to face the sea she found someone was already out here.

"Well I decided I should try to catch some more pokémon and let Clembot battle some trainers while I’m gone!" ‘Clembot’ was a robot he invented that could take his place while he wasn’t around since he wanted to wanted to explore more areas and strengthen his pokémon and become a better trainer. "Would you like me to get you a warm coat?" He offered to her.
The girl listened along to what the gym leader had to say while trying to keep as warm as she could manage. "W-whoa Clembot sure does sound cool!" She couldn't help but be awed by what he had said about the Robot. "You built him b-by yourself?" Rosa stuttered as she spoke the question. Even though it wouldn't help , she tried to rub the goosebumps that had formed on her arms away but of course it didn't. "Oh y-you don't h-have too-" The girl started shivering even more violently, causing her teeth to chatter when she tried to speak. "on second thought y-yes please that would be a b-big help."
Here is me doing the ALS Ice bucket challenge since Lucian mun nominated us all. I also nominate anyone who has not already done so within the group to do the challenge.
Sorry for my awkwardness I'm not good with talking on camera and there was a neighbor behind me. I also wanted to have a bigger bucket but this was all i could find sadly.
"The Unova region?" He said curiously. "Much more cold here than there of course!" Clemont said, pointing out the obvious. "Were you heading anywhere to warm up?" He adjusted his glasses and examined the clothing she was wearing, noticing it wasn't warm enough for the weather.
"Mhmm!" The girl replied, nodding her head slightly as she spoke. "Y-yeah," a shiver ran down Rosa's spine as she spoke, causing her to stutter slightly, She tucked her arms tightly into her chest hoping to try to stay some what warm. However, it was to no avail and the girl soon found herself shivering even more. "I was heading to the boutique to see about buying some warmer clothes, I didn't really pack for this kinda weather." A small laugh escaped her lips as her blunder. "H-how about you Celemont, What brings you all this way if your the gym leader of lumiose?"
