Blast from the Past || Nate + Curtis
Word on the street was that some PokĂ©Star Studios people were filming scenes for an upcoming movie on location in the Virbank Complex. Nate didnât care much about celebrities, but he did like moviesâthat, combined with his natural curiosity and proximity to the location was what got him to show up and try to get a look at what was going on.
It was late afternoon when Nate arrived but the set was still bustling with activity. Crew members dashed back and forth, important-looking people were standing around looking important, and a throng of fans jostled for a peek at the action.
Nate stuffed his hands into his pockets as he scoped things out, taking in all of the activity from afar. Was this what Rosaâs life was like all the time? It seemed exciting, which was nice if you liked that kind of thing and kind of awful if you didnât. Not Nateâs idea of fun, at least.Â
One of the important-looking people shouted something that seemed to slow things down. The director, maybe? Sure enough, it looked like heâd called it quits for the day; people began to disperse and the once-hectic activity began to fade.
Nate sighed. Of course the moment she showed up would be when the action was over. What was he supposed to do now? This had been his only plan for the rest of the day, basically. He checked the time on his C-Gear, trying to come up with something else to do.Â
That was when he caught sight of one of the actors for the first time. The guyâs light green hair was familiar, which shouldnât have been surprising considering that he was an actor, but Nate didnât think that was the source of his feeling. He was familiar in a different way... Nate drew closer, watching the guy for some hint as to where heâd seen him before. Green eyes, green hair... it wasnât until Nate was close enough to see a small beauty mark near his mouth that Nate knew exactly who he was.Â
âCurtis!â he blurted out, âHey, Curtis!â He waved, trying to catch his attention without getting so close that some security guy would chase him off for being a creepy fan. Curtis would recognize him when he saw him though, Nate was sure of it. Itâd been a long time since they last talked, but theyâd been friends as kids... or, that was how Nate remembered it, at least.Â
