The one question which I think shall always remain unanswered is whether book!Bellatrix has naturally straight or curly hair.

It’s true she had sleek hair at her Ministry hearing, but Harry describes her hair in her Azkaban picture as ‘straggly’, and the hair Hermione steals from her at Malfoy Manor for the Polyjuice Potion is described as ‘coarse’. She seems to have curly hair when in a more natural state.

I think she had naturally curly hair and sometimes straightened it. This might be film-conditioning, but a Bellatrix with natural sleek hair just feels wrong. Really wrong.

I think she had thick, long, shiny, and wavy hair. It was certainly not curly or straight. I like this fanart’s depiction of it but it is too short.
