🎸 Floyd Pepper agere flip headcanons
Most of these will be within the context of Muppets Mayhem
Regressor:
Floyd doesn't regress very often, having internalized that he feels silly when he does, and get embarrassed
Teeth was the first to know about it, and for a long time, he was the only one who knew
Floyd's age depends on stress levels. If he's super stressed out, he might be a toddler, but during better days, he's a kid/ middle regressor, ranging anywhere from 6-10
Being an older kid, he still likes to help out with the younger littles if anyone else is regressed at the same time as him
Teeth acts as Floyd's caregiver when he needs one. Sometimes if he's an older kid, Floyd will keep to himself and not tell anyone
Sometimes this backfires and he'll really need an adult, and Teeth will eventually be able to just figure it out by Floyd's demeanor. Maybe his shirt isn't buttoned correctly, maybe he's speaking differently, maybe he's just a little grumpier or whinier than usual, but Teeth figures it out and manages to get him to a different room so he can take care of him
Floyd sometimes gets scolded for keeping things to himself
Big fan of physical media. He has a portable cd player and a walkman he carries around when he's older. He'll sit on the floor and play disk after disk of all the music he likes
He can still play the guitar, just maybe not quite as well, but still decent
Teeth usually calls him buddy, bubs, or Pink (reference to Pink Floyd)
Younger ages (toddler - six)
When he's younger, Teeth is the one who plays his music for him, popping in whatever CD Floyd picks out, since Floyd might scratch or break them by accident
Floyd is a FUSSY little, my goodness. Teeth loves him but sometimes it is difficult to keep him happy
So hard to put him to sleep. Teeth will lay down with him, and when he thinks Floyd is finally asleep, he'll try to get up and suddenly Floyd is wide awake again and doesn't want him to leave. He'll sigh and settle back down, accepting that he's stuck there for a while.
Floyd is quiet, and not much of a talker when regressed, regardless of age, but he enjoys humming familiar songs
Doesn't like tight clothes or kiddie pajamas, so instead he tends to just rock an old, over sized t-shirt and sweatpants. The shirt is an old band t-shirt he got froma concert but it's worn and the logo is starting to fade
He doesn't have a stuffed animal, but he does have an old hoodie that's falling apart that he snuggles and carries around like a blankie. It's always been his, but it's just an odd comfort object he has. When it stopped being wearable out in public, he just kept it as a blankie
Caregiver
We've already seen how he cares for Animal and can get a good sense of what he's like
He loves singing to his littles. Lullabies, silly songs, covers of actual songs, you name it he'll sing it
Big 'go with the flow' guy. He quickly adapts to sudden change and is able to keep up with even the most energetic littles
Thrives in chaos. If you're hyperactive, he may join in, he may laugh and find it amusing, or he may just observe and make sure you're not getting into trouble from a distance
Dad jokes!!!!! It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them, he will tell them and wheeze at his own jokes regardless of whether you're giggling or groaning
He'll hold you in his lap and play some of the oldies for you, telling you all about the artists and their music. "Now see here, this is Janis Joplin! First female solo artist in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Here, listen to her sing, you'll get why."
If you're an older kid, he might teach you a couple chords on the guitar, and if you're younger, he'll just play for you and sing
Despite how adaptable he is, he's also a worrier. If his little coughs a little too loud, he's checking your temperature and making sure you're not sick
He naps with you. He doesn't always mean to, sometimes he just falls asleep while waiting for you to fall asleep, but regardless, he'll be there
i dunno if anyone other than me needs to hear this but your stuffed animals love you!
even if they don't sleep in bed with you every night! even if you don't play with them very often! even if they fall on the floor, or you squish them accidentally! even if you forget them in your bag overnight!
they all love you even if you've been spending a lot of time with one specific one and not as much with them! they know that different stuffies help bring you different comfort and they love you and love when you feel happy and safe!
your stuffed animals are your friends and they feel loved by you and they love you too :)
