SIMS Orientation – Inbound Activities
Today, we had various activities scheduled on the 3rd day of Orientation including Inbound Activities. Our day started at 5:45 AM. SIMS Orientation - Inbound activities
Today, we had various activities scheduled on the 3rd day of Orientation including Inbound Activities. Our day started at 5:45 AM. We started the day with some warm-up activities followed by Cardio Activity, in which we some us jogged and some of us walked continuously for 20 minutes. Our coach instructed us to keep our mouths open as it increases the level of oxygen intake. He also suggested to drink small amounts of water as it is the richest source of oxygen. Then we did our breakfast and took a little break.
Then we started with our inbound activities which started with Finance activity in which we were the owners of a restaurant. We were distributed in various Deca-mates. We prepared a balance sheet for our restaurant which was targeted for students.
Then we started with Operations activity in which we had to survey the campus, select any area where improvement is required. We selected stationary shop as there was a lot of scope to increase the number of counters so that the long queues can be reduced.
Then we started with sports activity. First game was to distribute ourselves in pairs among the Deca-mates. Then we had to keep a ball between our backs and finish the cross line. The second game was to make a human chain and finish the race. It was a very fun activity and increased bonding among ourselves.
Then we were divided in penta-mates for marketing activity. We were an ad agency based out of India hired by UNEP to spread awareness about the deteriorating state of the environment among all the classes of people. We made two globes in which we presented what the current state of the earth is and in the other we presented how beautiful it will be if we take some corrective measures. We highlighted the issues of deforestation, littering of garbage, traffic pollution, industrial pollution, noise pollution etc.
Then the last activity of the day was HR in which we posted a requirement for a position to be filled in our Tattoo and Piercing parlour named Mr. Flintstone. We represented the hierarchy of the organisation in the form of organisation chart. Then, we posted the job description for the position of a barber.
