Public performance art, project #5 titled "The Current State of Pokémon Go". Enjoy.

I’m not entirely sure if I did this right but this is what I came up with. I also can’t draw literally at all in any way so I’m real sorry about that.

Reading/Film Response 5

Probably because I’m an art history major and I’m not so much into making my own art as I am observing and studying other people’s art, I loved this assignment! It was super fun for me because the only performance art I have spent time on prior to watching this was one Futurist performance my freshman year and some Bauhaus performances sophomore year. Performance art has always been one of those taboo art things I didn’t understand, nor really care to understand. I can’t say I understand performance art because of this one documentary but I had heard about Marina Abramovic before and this documentary was just so well done. I found myself judging people for idolizing Marina but by the end I was mesmerized with her commitment to her art just like the audience at MOMA was. I am a lot more interested in performance art now, however I totally cannot see myself doing it. Performance artists break the stigma that fine artists are introverts and sit inside their studio and don’t talk to people. I, on the other hand, am perfectly cool with this stigma because I can’t even talk in front of people without throwing up. Power to the people that are into it, though! The reading was just a light reading about the history of performance art so I would suggest reading first the watching the film (: Fun!

Project #4. This project was not my favorite because of the technical difficulties I faced. I wanted to make my fade transitions longer. I edited the clips as well as I could to still get the full effect without making it look overly choppy. All in all, I’m glad it’s finished and enjoy.

The Loop

For the GIF based project I decided to use clips I found funny from Camp Lazlo, an old Cartoon Network cartoon. I had fun working on these and I hope everyone else did as well.

Note: I had a lot of issues with uploading to Tumblr for this project so my apologies if some of the loops aren’t working correctly on some computers. I have found on Mac my GIFS are looping and not on PC. Anyway, enjoy!
