I graduated from college and transferred to university, I still keep in touch with my tc from college. I email him often and go visit him when I can. He tells me I'm one of his smartest students and is always glad to help me with anything. Would it be a bad idea to invite him to my graduation when it's time for me to graduate from university?

My TC will leave school and I'm not sure if I'll ever see him again so I want to tell him about my feelings before he's gone. I just need to get it off my chest because lately this whole situation made me sick, I got depressions and all that stuff and I'm afraid it'll get even worse and I won't be able to move on because I never talked to him about it. What do you think off this?

What's something a student could give you that would make you really happy but wouldn't seem like they remember most of the stuff you like?

Personally, I always love it when my students bake things and give me some. It’s personal, shows appreciation and effort, but not too “stalkery” if that’s what you’re worried about.

what's your biggest advice to students on having a tc?

Relax. Don’t worry about this so much. It happens to so many people. You’re young, you have a whole life ahead of you. No boy or girl is worth the stress or consequences that come if something illegal happens. Your feelings are real and valid, but do not act on them if it is not safe and legal.

do you believe that people's actions say a lot? Like my tc will look at me and start playing with his wedding ring. Do you think that means anything

It probably does not mean anything. Life is not a romantic comedy.

I'm so scared my tc is able to tell I have a crush on them. I don't make it super overt or anything that would make him think i do, but it freaks me out. Is it typically easy or hard for teachers to tell when a student like them, like what would a student do that shows crush signs?

Teachers can usually tell.

if one of your students ever asked for a hug, would you hug them? i realise this won't be the same with all teachers i'm just curious

I don’t typically hug students, but I could make exceptions for the end of the year or special occasions.

i dated my tc when i graduated and now word is spreading at my old high school and people are unfriending me and saying nasty things about me but my ex-tc basically told me he wants nothing to do with me anymore. is there any way i can combat the nasty backlash i'm getting? i don't think it's fair that people only think terribly of me, not that i would wish any of this on him.

Just don’t feed into anything they are saying. Ignore them.

Hello! I'm currently new to the community and have been crushing hard ever since! Would just want to know if some teachers don't make it noticeable AT ALL—however may have feelings towards a student, yet is reluctant to show any signs of interest?

Any teacher with feelings will not make it at all noticeable. However, a majority of teachers won’t have feelings, so don’t read to much into anything.

u mentioned a while back that u don't hug students, i have a teacher like that. last year on the last day i told him to gimme a hug and he's like "i don't touch students" but i just cut him off and threw my arms around him and gave him a quick lil hug. he didn't say anything abt it afterwards, and i thought it was fine, and tbh was planning on doing it again at the end of this semester. i just feel like bc i've already done it it'll be less of a shock? what do u think?
