There’s a saying in my native language
That basically goes along the lines of, “Fuck it I’ll do it myself.”
You spend your whole life with this mentality, then you forget how to delegate or develop concerns where you don’t fully believe people you work with. They aren’t capable of carrying a task with as much meticulous care and effort as you would hold yourself accountable for.
Let’s say in a business environment, you’re the “worker” and the other person is the “manager,” the “manager” would take credit for all the effort and care you put into the project.
But when you’re the “manager,” and the other person is the “worker,” you take credit for whatever shit job he/she would have done.
I’m still trying to get the hang of delegating, but sometimes I feel like I just do a much better job if it were just up to me.
I just wish I would get the credit, recognition and upward mobility in the career chain for the times that I do...
