I watched the Dead Island announcement trailer and it’s even better than I remembered. Wow. It’s really a bummer how bland the game actually ended up being because that trailer deserves to be remembered forever. I’m sitting here trying to put into words just how incredible it is but there aren’t any. It’s so good that you are compelled to stare into space for a while to really let it sink in. It belongs in the hall of fame of zombie media all on its own. It’s so good it makes me want to replay it (I still have the disc) even though I know it’s not very fun.

Chris Watts committed an obscene act of misogynistic violence in August of 2018. By the end of the year he was convicted and would be sentenced to life in prison.

For some people that isn’t enough, and the true crime people are so obsessive and conspiratorially minded that nothing will ever be enough. They aren’t satisfied and in the years since the case was closed they have set their sights on Nichol.

Nichol’s greatest crime was fucking around with a married man. Not great, obviously, but is it even in the same zip code as multiple murders? Are we being for real?

This whole ass man committed an obscene crime and years later we have a huge group of people still trying to pin it on a woman who was not involved. Do you idiots imagine that a slam dunk aiding and abetting or accessory after the fact would just get ignored in a hugely high profile MULTIPLE MURDER investigation? Are you really so deluded, so absolutely foolish?

Like, the insane gymnastics happening here literally boggle the mind. Chris was so fucking stupid about the whole thing. If they made a list of the greatest hits in trying to cover up a crime Chris is the whole top 10. But, somehow, Nichol is a criminal mastermind cunning enough to completely hide her own involvement while allowing Chris to fuck up at every single step?

Chris killed Shanann. He strangled her in their bed. He was discovered after by their daughter.

Chris drove his daughters and Shanann’s body to an oil field. He strangled the girls one by one and stuffed their bodies into oil tanks.

Like, look at that sequence of events and tell me with a straight face that Nichol is the villain here. Stop it. Enough.

You are not, and could never be, an investigator. You are not, and could never be, a body language expert, a trauma response expert… frankly any kind of expert. This whole thing is so sickening and it’s way past time to leave Nichol alone.

I watched Hundreds of Beavers finally and I’m a little surprised at the near universal praise. Though it’s exceedingly clever and at times an absolute riot I thought it was a slog. Much too long. The entire middle bit where it becomes a video game was very meh. By the end I was just over it.
