It’s been a month since Christmas passed and Neji apologized to Aichi for not being able to get him anything, but the former still feels horribly bad about not providing a gift earlier—especially since it was their first major holiday together too! Secretly, he tried to look for things his son might like hoping to pleasantly surprise him but even so, he had a hard time trying to figure out exactly what Aichi would want (he’s still rather clueless on the world of cardgames), and ultimately, Neji decided the best approach would be to ask him head on.

He knocks on the door of the boy’s room, asking if he could come in. With the approval granted, he enters the quaint room and clears his throat before getting to the point.

"So um… Are you sure for real that you don’t want anything as a gift? Anything at all? A new game… or a pet even! You don’t need to hold back, or anything, I’ll see what I can do."

For some reason the family Aichi lives with didn’t celebrate Christmas like he thought they would. Nothing too extraordinary, but Aichi didn’t mind it. He’s a bit disappointed in himself because he didn’t really get anything for Shu, and Neji. By the looks of it when it comes to Shu he didn’t really seem to have much care for holidays— that aloof attitude of Shu’s, it definitely sometimes throws Aichi off, but he didn’t mind. Sometimes he felt as if he had to be wary around the blond parent, but even so the blue-haired boy really cherished this family despite how much he missed his old home.

At least, he was able to spend time with the two parents for the first Christmas in Iunctum. Presents didn’t even matter; that’s probably the reason why he even forgot himself…

Now, he sits idly at his desk, with a pencil in hand and a deep, thoughtful expression on his features. A blank sketchpad is in front of him, and the end of the pencil presses into his cheek as Aichi continues to be lost in his own personal thoughts. Drawing usually helps him think, so he always tends to have a sketchpad handy when he wants to plan certain things.

“I should really get a job to help Neji-san, but where…?” he frowns a bit, “The first semester of school is over, and I doubt this new one will be as busy so maybe I’ll have time, right? Hmm…” The blue-haired boy jolts up straight in his chair when he hears the knock, and allows Neji to come inside.

“Oh, Neji-san! Do you need help with something—“ the first thing asks when Neji approaches him, his dad is always working so hard. Aichi desperately wants to make sure he’s at least relaxed in his home! His mouth turns into an ‘o’ shape when Neji inquires about a gift. He’s not sure why Neji is asking, but…

“Haha… Why are you asking so suddenly, as long as I’m here I don’t really need a gift! You do so much already, Neji-san.” He says with a smile. Although, the word ‘pet’ makes the boy remember something, “Ahh… But actually, I saw a sign the other day while walking home that these people at the local flower shop were giving away puppies! Since they really couldn’t afford to keep so many puppies…”

Uh, oh he really hopes he isn’t asking for too much honestly, he’s always nervous about this kind of stuff. He really wants to help that family with the puppies though. And dogs! Dogs are so great, he always wanted one, honestly, “Maybe we can… Look at them?”

Turning her head, Mary blinks because she’s a bit confused of what she has of his in her hair. Wait, maybe he means!! Removing the ribbon from her hair, she holds it out to the other. Her voice light, “H.. Here..! Did you.. want this..”

"Ah... No, you got it all wrong," He says, hands up, shaking them front of him in a dismissive manner to refuse the ribbon. Does she not notice, or something? Weird... He didn't want to burst her bubble, but he wants his CARDS BACK!

Reaching into his deck case, grabbing a salvaged card he shows her, "Like... This?"

Only being sixteen, and still in high school believe it or not— the idea that as soon as he came to Iunctum, he’s suddenly… Engaged?! Honestly, the entire idea is rather baffling to Aichi, he may be a tad bit embarrassed at the thought, being engaged and all, but maybe this can all work out. He has high hopes, really! As of right now, he just needs to not chicken out, and actually meet this fiancé of his… Rouga Aragrami, was it? So he was told earlier, at least.

With a simple text to him, he asks if he’s willing to meet at the mall, in front of one of the shops. What to do while they’re both there? He isn’t sure, but maybe when they finally meet they can think of something fun to do.

Here Aichi finds himself, sitting comfortably on a bench in front one of the clothes store. He waits silently as he watches people walk by holding their shopping bags, chatting with the people they’re shopping with, or texting on their phones.

Out of the corner of his eye… He spots him…. Rouga Aragami….

He turns his head to notice the silver-haired boy approaching. Well, Aichi is pretty sure it’s him, since he’s coming this way! It must be him! He stands from the bench, waving to get the other boy’s attention.

“Ah… You’re Rouga-san right?” With that said, a nervous laugh emits from his lips because he really hopes he does have the right person. If not, well, that'd just be extremely embarrassing, “I’m Aichi Sendou, by the way. It’s nice to meet you, I’m glad you were able to make it!”

"I was thinking... Well, to be honest I'm not much of a mall person, but maybe we can find something, ehh... Right?" Honestly, a lot of his time is spent at school, or Card Capital. This is kind of out of his bounds.

With things as they have been as of late, Shu finds that he’s able to leisurely lay about the house with less nagging in his ear than before. Neji seems content to let him do as he wants for the most part — only rousing Shu from his slumber when he absolutely needs to be, in Neji’s opinion. Shu still ignores him for the most part as he is doing so now, asleep in the dark living room. For what it was worth, he had attempted (sluggishly) to make it to the couch but got tired of the effort he was expending and fell asleep in the middle of the floor, then and there.

Anywhere had always been fine for him and certain people had a harder time finding him in dark rooms then all the better for him, he’d be able to sleep undisturbed — for the most part.

Naturally, he hears the front door open and close, the sound of wheels hitting the floor and accompanying soft footfalls enter the apartment. He realizes quickly enough from scent and nature that it’s not his husband, it’s someone else. Maybe they’re being robbed though Shu doesn’t necessarily do anything to stop them if that were true. He just rolls over when the pseudo robber’s voice calls out into the room. In response, he begins thumbing the volume on his music player, proceeding to drown out any sounds afterwards and going back to sleep in the following moments.

Unfortunately, as always, he’s forced awake by an outside force.

Shu stirs again and just barely opens tired blue eyes, his vision doesn’t take long to focus, even in the darkness. When he catches sight of just what tripped over him, he yawns almost completely uninterested in the fact that a strange boy is in his vicinty and opts to pull himself up. He only does so in order to find another place to sleep, however sighs when he hears Neji’s deliberate footsteps coming their way. No doubt he heard the thud just now and thought it was Shu falling off the couch again.

Lately, Neji has been a lot more lenient about letting Shu sleep around the house if only for the fact he’s still sort of—but much less than before—avoiding him. Although, he might have to force himself to go back to interacting frequently (or at least trying to) with his husband, having heard that they’ll be having a new “child” come live with them. He just hopes Shu doesn’t scare them off.

Occupying himself with chores and housework, the shinobi doesn’t notice anyone entering the apartment nor does he hear the small voice calling out. Inside his shared bedroom with his spouse, Neji continues to work, practically reorganizing everything just as he’s done in every other room in the house. That is, until he hears a loud thud sounding from the living room of course, thinking that Shu must have fallen off the couch once again with a sigh. Exiting the room into the other darker one, Neji makes a beeline for the light switch, flicking it on before searching the area to find a blue haired youth who seems to have been the one to fall—tripping over Shu. Boy, does he know that feel.

Truthfully, he does want to make an empathetic comment towards the younger male (except he seems barely any younger than Neji is), but instead, ends up throwing a disapproving look at Shu for lying in such an inconvenient place.

"Shu! What do you think you’re doing? Sleeping in on the ground like that… Geez!"

Only after that does he finally turn to address the boy, walking to him and reaching out to grab his hand in order to pull him up. He quickly notices the other’s suitcase resting beside the door after cooling down. Putting two and two together, Neji figures that this must be the child he and Shu are supposed to take care of and apologizes profusely for his untimely—and somewhat painful—appearance.

"Ah—! I’m so sorry, are you hurt? That guy… He just sleeps wherever he wants, so please be careful otherwise he might try some weird stuff. Er, to clarify, I’m Neji and he’s Shu. So, you’re going to be living with us now, right?"

Oh, how Aichi wished he didn’t actually fell over an actual person. How terrible of him! It’s actually really embarrassing, to make such a mistake like this. He didn’t really notice until the person stirs, and gives him a lethargic reply. For the most part- or so Aichi thinks, the blond didn’t seem particularly angry, or annoyed.

“U..Uwaa! I’m sorry, really sorry!” And with that apology said, Aichi immediately gets off the other person, and stands up. With a small bow to excuse himself, he then quickly brushes his clothes off, and offers a hand to the blond presuming the other will get up as well with Aichi. This must be not the best first impression on him, huh? Well, he had worse, at least. However, it isn’t long until footsteps approach the room quickly, which suddenly makes Aichi realize there are more than one person in this household.

Are these his parents, perhaps? There really can’t be another explanation, so he is positive he’s one-hundred percent sure. The name ‘Shu’ the scolding boy says as he walks in rings a bell, what a relief, he is in the right house. As he begins to speak, Aichi retracts his hand [didn’t seem like Shu is paying that much attention for the most part] to give the dark haired boy his regard.

Aichi replies with a nervous laughter, “Ahaha… I thought so, when you called him that name.” He nods at Neji to acknowledge his words, and also gives him a small bow to greet him, “It’s nice to meet you, Neji-san. I’m Aichi Sendou. It’s nice to meet you both.”

With a small pause, still embarrassed about the previous incident he decides to also add to finish his little introduction, wishing that his new parents aren't already judging him too much for that, “I didn’t want to make so much noise coming in like this, I’m sorry. It’s sort of dark in here… Ah… That’s right-,” He turns towards Shu, “Shu-san… Right? You’re not hurt are you?” He isn’t really sure how his own tiny body could really hurt someone that looked… So tall, but the other parent did call him heavy, for some reason. Maybe he’s one of those people that are moody as soon as they wake up? It’s understandable.

“Well, if there’s anything you need me to do I can at least start by helping in any way.”

Finally, after all that preparation- which only entailed picking up his things, and packing a suitcase, Aichi arrives at the doors of apartment 2.003. It’s kind of weird moving so suddenly, to him, but he can make due easily. With a tight grip on the handle of the suitcase that rolls on its wheels behind his steps, he then halts at the door to look at it for a moment. He gulps, a tad bit nervous, not having too much time to mentally prepare himself for a new life, however, if he got this far he can still push on.

Now he just hopes that his timid self doesn’t come back when meeting his new parents. He doesn’t really like the feeling of him shying away from new people, which he does quite often sometimes, but for the most part he grew out of doing that most of the time.

After that, he enters the apartment, and closes the door behind him. Upon entering, he blinks in surprise as he tries to take a look around the apartment from where he’s standing, but the lights were dimmed for some odd reason. He opens his mouth to call out, “Excuse me?” A pause… Then one more time, “Excuse me?” There isn’t a response, he almost felt the still room stir for a moment but it’s probably his imagination. The only other reason he can think is that no one is home at the moment.

"Ah... It won't hurt to wait, I guess." Even though the longer he waits the more nervous he feels. Sometimes it's just better to get past introductions as soon as possible.

He lets go of the suitcase, leaving it by its lonesome by the door to check things out. Well, and maybe fight a light switch. Hopefully, his parents won’t think he’s snooping or something along the lines of that, this is his ‘home’ now, anyway.

However, when he starts walking towards the middle of the living room his foot gets caught on something, and falls over, emitting a cry of surprise. Little did he know, until after he fell over that something is actually a someone.

SOL || Aichi Sendou & Kido Tsubomi

Sometimes, she got in trouble with the wrong sort. This is one of those times.

It’s kinda a miracle that she isn’t worse off. She had always thought those sort of people carried guns or knives, but she supposes she was lucky this time. Well, as lucky as one can be when you bump into some thug. At least he hadn’t noticed she was a girl—who knows what would’ve happened? It still hurts though—the bruises she knows are forming on her body from traded punches and kicks, the black eye sure to form, and…maybe a concussion from when she got knocked against the wall. Point is, she needs help. 

…At least she had been able to escape before she was beaten to death.

With one arm slung over her stomach, she reaches out a hand to grasp the shoulder of the stranger just passing by. Her grip is weak, and it seems as though her hands won’t cease their trembling. Ah, well, it can’t be helped, can it? Today really isn’t her day. Perhaps she’s bleeding from her nose? Or is her lip just split? She can taste the metallic of blood, but with all the pain coursing through her system, it’s difficult to tell the source of everything bit of it. 

She starts to open her mouth, only to end up coughing. God, is that blood? Damn. That guy really did a number. She wonders what her friends are going to think. Right now though, she needs help from this person. God, things are awfully blurry. Can she even speak without slurring?? It’s a mystery, but she tries. 

"…H-hey. Can…Can you….give me…a…hah, ha…hand?"

Well, this certainly doesn’t happen every day. For what it seems like to be peaceful city, he ran into a situation where he can only gape at, surprised… Perhaps a bit scared too. Sometimes, he wonders if he’s suspended in a dream, a seemingly perfect one, but maybe that’s not the case. Especially since he feels as if something’s missing. Something important, too.

When the weak hand grasps onto Aichi’s shoulder, he turns around about to respond to why there is a sudden touch, but all he sees is a weak composure, and taking a better look... He catches glimpses of bruises, and crimson that dirtied their face. Honestly, he’s so shocked that he almost didn’t even catch the question they asked.

Mouth still open, eyes widened in surprise, he stares for a few moments. Finally, with some delay, he snaps out of that shocked state, and takes hold of the stranger’s trembling hand that was holding onto Aichi’s shoulder.

“Hey… Excuse me..?! Are you alright—“ Obviously not, why would you even ask a question like that, though in a tiny state of panic… OKAY, maybe not ‘tiny’ perhaps, but Aichi has definitely been struck by some. Though, he isn’t sure what to do. Try to think, try to think… Inhale, exhale. This isn't the time to panic. 

He takes the hand he’s holding and guides it over his neck, and shoulder, trying to give the person extra support. He holds onto their wrist, and keeps his other arm around their torso, Hopefully, he'll be able to give this person enough support, or himself to lean on, “Here… You’re probably exhausted, but try to keep standing. I’m sorry.” He replies, “Can you maybe… Tell me how this happen? Ahh… No good, we really need to get you to a doctor.” There’s no way Aichi can help this person much, he isn’t a doctor himself. If he can at least help this much though, he can at least guarantee their safety.

“Can you still walk?” He asks, “I’ll need you to stay strong with me, and you’ll be alright. Try right now, if you got this far, you can still do it... Step now.” He slowly starts taking his own steps as he carefully watches them, silently praying for the best they can still continue.
