my ideal characterization of tord i think would be like

give him back his awkward quietness from the classic era. he gets more chatty when his interest is piqued by something. this is the thing that bothers me most about the end - tord is not a social character. the extroverted, charming personality they try to give him in the end falls flat completely.

in addition to the end making him more talkative, it also severely reduces his physical expressiveness. that was a big part of tord's character i really liked - he's quiet, but it's hard to not know what he's thinking because he practically wears it on his face. he has a very cartoonish expressiveness that makes up for his quiet demeanor.

there is one trait i think i'd like him to keep from his legacy portrayal is his interest in tinkering and building things. i can see this fitting his classic portrayal just as well.
