district 13 invasion | erika & finnick (flashback)
This is what happens when you disobey the Capitol. The people you love the most… they die.
Finnick shuddered at those words. They were the reason Annie and Gen were the only people he had left. The thought of Gen was like an electric shock to the system. She was gone. It was just him and Annie. They were the only ones left.
The thought had no sooner entered his mind than Erika led him and the guards past his wife. Beaten and bloody, Annie was unconscious in the seat she had been shackled too. A scream erupted from Finnick then before he knew it was happening. He was shouting her name over and over, hoping she would hear him and respond; so he would know for sure she was still alive.
Finnick’s screams soothed Erika like a lullaby.
“Oh, quit your squalling.” She demanded, stopping to swivel around and look him in the eye. “Annie is alive. . . For now. Whether or not she remains that way depends on whether or not you’re willing to cooperate with me. You don’t want to lose your darling wife too, do you Finnick? If you really loved her or your daughter -- -you’d listen to me.”
Erika gave Finnick a pat on the cheek before turning back around and continuing to lead the guards. After what seemed like an hour of walking, she finally stopped in front of a seat near the front of the hovercraft and gestured toward it.
“Shackle him up, boys.” Erika said to the guards.
