Cecil: Want to watch a movie with us?
Kevin: What movie?
Cecil: Monsters Inc.
Kevin: Oh, no. I'm scared of those.
Cecil: Monsters?
Kevin: Corporations.
i feel bad for regular night vale citizens who turn on the radio and some guy’s just talking about how great his crush/boyfriend/husband is.
[vine voice] can i get the news? CAN I PLEASE GET THE NEWS?
cecil: for those of you who have been writing in telling me to ‘not talk about my husband all the time’ and to focus on the ‘news’ i would like to express my confusion. you don’t seem to understand that the most worthwhile ‘news’ in this town is my husband.
Cecil: Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens-
Kevin, from another room: STICKING MY DICK IN ROTISSERIE CHICKENS!

Part of why I like WTNV is because they have a main gay couple with a very low level of drama. Like, they're in a steady relationship and are absolutely in love with each other, they live in a world without homophobia, there are many other gay characters in the town, and they're implied to be about the same physical age (Cecil's age is unspecified but from the way he relates to other characters with specified ages, he's probably in his early 40s like Carlos is). Bonus: both characters are played by actors who are gay in real life.
If you're not gay, you don't realize how toxic media normally is about gay characters, so it's nice to have something good.
Middle-aged-reading wholesome gay couple builds a steady, strong relationship over the course of several years, that starts as fluttery mutual crushes and turns into something deep and meaningful and caring, and stands unwavering through intense trials and doesn't consider marriage to be an endgame after which it's irrelevant to focus on the ship, and has millions of people rooting for the couple without having to resort to cheap drama or love triangles or breakups for investment? Sign me up.
I'm all for will-they-won't-they when done right, but Cecil and Carlos have ALWAYS been a 'they fucking will' and the investment lay in the journey they took to get there, and the journey that continued after. And I adore that.
Carlos: Cecil just created a group chat called Cecil’s Suprise Party and then just left the group
