im a rlly big fan of onesided kris/ramb personally... while spamton is mr "I WANT THAT [Nonbinary]" ramb is a guilty old man pervert... more than anything wants to feel kris' hands on his cord again... but knows it's wrong, and he shouldn't want that... so he hangs back and watches them from afar

i’m always the firm believer that Kris is someone you yearn for and not someone who yearns (openly),, i can rant about why i think so but my response would end up being far too long for a response so here’s a summary:

it’s mostly because Kris finds it embarrassing,, just… cringe (feelings ?? eew),, and if they want to be cruel: downright pathetic,, one of the reasons why they tease Noelle by being a scaredy-cat and a cry baby when Dess isn’t around to defend her,,

being caught expressing anything beyond neutrality, anger, and sometimes even joy, makes them feel too exposed and vulnerable,, heaven forbid looking at someone with longing and heart eyes and bleh !! gross !! get that away from me !!

Ramb has an inflated ego because he got the most attention from Kris out of all of them (sorry Tenna keep fuming),, i think a pippin pointed out how he butts in on decision making, thinking he knew Kris better than anyone there because of this,,

and i feel bad for Ramb because Kris would not hesitate to break his heart and destroy the tiniest hope left in him that Kris would feel the same way,, and that’s why he chooses to be a spectator than an active participant among other reasons,, 👀👀👀

as much as Ramb tries to deny it,, him and Tenna aren’t all that different at the end of the day,, they have built a fantasy within the walls of their prison to make themselves feel better about being left behind,, Ramb is just way better at pretending to be okay than the walking disaster that is his boss,,

besides,, did you see the way Kris treated Tenna ?? how they looked at him whenever he claims they love him ?? that he’s the only thing they’ll ever need ???? heh,, yeah… i think Ramb’s better off actually helping them rather than force them to pretend everything’s okay,,

what a relief that he’s here, right Kris?

(CHAPTER 5 MINOR SPOILERS)

Gaster being a brother now makes more sense to me than him being a father,, because why are we via Kris kept asking Sans about his brother (which we immediately assumed to be Papyrus) but never mention him by name ??

it’s a stretch but listen,, Sans had mentioned Papyrus on occasion,, even said his name when we look for his ‘brother’,, but it feels as if he’s using Papyrus as a way to shoot down any further doubts or questions we might end up having about another brother he may or may not have,,

i bet Sans is there looking for Gaster after he ‘disappeared’,, maybe he stopped picking up calls and stuff like that and he got worried so he moved to look for him in Hometown,,

and i think Papyrus is actively looking for Gaster behind the scenes while Sans does all the frontman work because he’s a good bullshitter,, 😂😂 he literally does most of the fucking job in the town festival,, you can’t be doing this just for the money man c’mon,,

like Kris feels like they know that someone used to operate the ferris wheel before and now Sans is manning it in their place,, it could be anyone sure,, but why can’t Kris remember who it was when it was just a year ago ???

he’s also ‘bad’ at operating the ferris wheel that was supposed to overlook the lake,, what’s with that bone boy ?? what are you hiding ??? what’s in that lake ????? and don’t deny the fact that you had three ice creams,, loudly declaring there’s one for each person only to eat one yourself and leave Kris with none is such a dick move,,

pushing that ragebaiter aside for now,, Gaster being a brother would be so much fun,, especially if he’s a younger brother than the oldest because the potential of him being shipped with Kris is higher,, 😂😂😂

‼️CHAPTER 5 (PROBABLY) MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD‼️

(my brief thoughts halfway through Chapter 5)

i wonder if the overall theme of Deltarune is not only the question whether or not we have free will or if our fate is predetermined but of acceptance of what actually is and moving forward,,

everyone is going through a lot of grief in-game it seems,, we know Kris is obviously going through it because we follow them throughout the story,,

but so is Toriel, Asgore, Noelle, Carol, and Rudy,, and it all leads back to the grief of Dess’ disappearance,, of not knowing where she is and how she’s doing,, or if she’s even alive,,

we might never have the answers to the question of whether or not if a higher power had already written our fates in stone or if the unfortunate things that happened up to this point, only happened because we were at the wrong place at wrong time,,

Noelle wanting escape (however you want to interpret that,, like running away from Hometown, her home, or our control),, she and Kris literally drowned themselves in the weird route,,

Asgore and Toriel trying to keep it together despite struggling to make ends meet for Kris while also trying to co-parent their teenage kid and supporting another in college,,

and it could be the same for Rudy and Carol,, though financially secure,, they themselves are struggling with keeping it together in front of Noelle because there’s no way in hell they’re coping well with Rudy sick and Carol running a whole goddamn town,,

we might find out what actually happened to Dess and what happened to her after said event,, and i might be wrong,, who knows really,,

BUT it’s possible that Kris and everyone ALREADY KNEW what happened to her and are just not admitting it to themselves,, they want to change what happened but they CAN’T,,

i’m saying that Dess might already be gone and the only person who might have accepted that is Asriel and he isn’t in the game,, not yet at least,,

those love letters we saw must be Asriel processing his own grief and physically moving himself forward towards change and acceptance,,

the Dark World is a form of escapism and a way for Kris to process their grief alongside the people in Hometown,, a child disappearing must’ve been devastating, terrifying, and downright traumatic,, especially for a small town where everyone knows everybody,,

i dunno man,, i’m just rambling at this point,, i can go on and on about how Kris is trying to make sense of Dess’ disappearance,, if there’s a way to ‘reset’ the event that unfolded,,

would it be easier to accept that it was meant to happen anyway,, that there’s nothing they could’ve done to prevent it from happening ?? or if they’re responsible for their own fate,, then that means there was no one to blame for Dess’ disappearance other than themselves ??

I'm officially ending the Stand-in comic with this post (main storyline only. There may still be short side stories or personal experience sharing in the future).

First of all, thank you again to the readers and partners who have helped and continue to help with correcting the comic's dialogue. 

Here, I want to especially thank @brynwyth and @hiimtryingtounderfell (Kaitogirl) for assisting with language corrections all the way to the final episode. Without their dedication, completing this work would have been unimaginably difficult. Their contribution was crucial to this work.

I also want to thank @celmif 's team for translating the comic into Russian over the past eight years. Their devotion and determination have made this story accessible to an entirely different audience, and I believe their work is the biggest reason I still have a wonderful Russian-speaking fanbase to this day.

While it is unfortunate that they were unable to continue for various reasons, the time and effort they put into their translations and comic dubs deserve recognition and gratitude all the same.

When the Stand-in comic was first created, it was just a comic I drew in my spare time as doodles. At that time, I had an idea that had been brewing in my mind for quite a while, and I simply wanted to see it actually drawn on paper. Back then, I had no idea this comic would grow to such a scale and take so much time.

Although my goal has always been the same: to complete this comic properly (at least not end it too hastily), and I never thought about giving it up, I won't say the process was without obstacles. During these years, watching the production progress repeatedly delayed by various necessary matters in real life, my doubts about "whether I could really finish it" never stopped until I actually completed it. Only then could this doubt and burden in my heart finally be released.

I want to thank God for His care and guidance. The truth is, this comic has been like a dream to me, a dream I've had for nearly ten years. Whether my circumstances were good or bad, I've felt His love through creating this story rooted in Undertale's themes of choice and mercy. It was my mental oasis that helped me barely hold on when I was on the edge of severe depression. In a sense, I'm still walking in the dark tunnel of my own life. The light is far away, but fortunately, it hasn't disappeared yet. This dream has reached its final stop. And I will, and must, find a way to keep moving forward.

I also thank my family for their help and support in my daily life. They may not know much about this comic, but because of the living conditions they created, I had the space and capacity to complete this work.

Finally, thank you to every reader who has followed this comic and made it to this point. Being able to share this joy with you is my greatest honor.
